Spooktacular Bash If You Dare Coffin |
P layful Halloween treat box using Stampin' Up! products.
Cut cardstock and designer paper pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- 1-1/2" x 2-1/4" of jars of spooky ingredients on gray background design from Monster Bash Designer Series Paper, cut so the jars are horizontal on the horizontal rectangle
- 1-1/2" x 1-3/4" from Very Vanilla Cardstock
- 1-1/2" x 2" from Very Vanilla Cardstock
- 2 strips of Garden Green Cardstock each 1" by 2-1/4"
Fold a Coffin Treat Box base and lid along all score lines using the Bone Folder.
Use pieces of Tear & Tape Adhesive to hold the box together. Set aside.
Use pieces of Tear & Tape Adhesive to hold the lid together.
Unlock the Decorative Ribbon Border Punch. Slide one long side of one of the Garden Green strips into the punch so it butts up against the guide at the back of the punch. Punch. Slide the punched cardstock over a little bit and line up the punched area with the silver design printed on the base of the punch. Punch again. Repeat if necessary until the entire length has been punched.
Tip: I sometimes find it easier to line things up with this punch if I turn the punch over so I can see the punching area. I then line up the punched areas with the designs of the punch before punching again.
Repeat the step above with the other strip of Garden Green Cardstock.
Using SNAIL Adhesive, adhere one of the punched Garden Green strips to the back of the piece of Monster Bash Designer Paper so only the tops of the little bumps show along the top 2-1/4" edge of the designer paper.
Using SNAIL Adhesive, adhere the other punched Garden Green strip to the back of the piece of Monster Bash Designer Paper so only the tops of the little bumps show along the bottom 2-1/4" edge of the designer paper.
Adhere the matted designer paper to the front of the coffin lid about 1/2" from the bottom. Use Paper Snips to trim off excess cardstock and designer paper on the left and right edges.
Mount the "Open if you dare" framed sentiment from the Spooktacular Bash Set on Block B. Ink it up with the StazOn Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the 1-1/2" x 1-3/4" vanilla rectangle.
Pick out the matching small square die with pointy corners from the Ornate Frames Dies. Put it on top of the stamped sentiment label image on a platform on your cutting and embossing tool so the image is centered. Run through the tool.
Squeeze the lid of the Terracotta Tile Ink Pad to get ink in the lid. If needed, add ink to the lid using an Ink Refill. Use the Blender Pen to pick up ink from the pad lid and color in the center of the stamped label image cut out. Remember to stroke in one direction only or the cardstock will tear and pill up. Scribble on Grid Paper when you are done until no more color is coming off the Blender Pen.
Adhere the colored sentiment label image cut out to the front of the lid so it overlaps the top of the matted designer paper strip a bit on the upper right side.
Mount the set of 3 filled jars image from the Spooktacular Bash Set on Block C. Ink it up with the StazOn Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the 1-1/2" x 2" vanilla rectangle.
One at a time, squeeze the lids of the ink pads to get ink in the lids. If needed, add ink to the lids using Ink Refills. One at a time, use the Blender Pen to pick up ink from the pad lids and color in the bones in a jar image and the frog in a jar image. Remember to stroke in one direction only or the cardstock will tear and pill up. Remember to scribble on Grid Paper in between colors until no more color is coming off the Blender Pen.
Use the following colors:
Crushed Curry – for frog's eyes in the one jar and bones in another jar
Garden Green - for rest of frog
Cut out the colored frog in a jar image and bones in a jar image by hand using Paper Snips.
Tip: Save the spider in a jar image for use on a later project.
Use Mini Stampin' Dimensionals from the Black Stampin' Dimensionals Combo Pack to adhere the cut out bones in a jar image to the top of the lid so it overlaps the top of the matted designer paper and the left side of the sentiment label cut out a bit.
Use Mini Stampin' Dimensionals from the Black Stampin' Dimensionals Combo Pack to adhere the cut out frog in a jar image to the top of the lid so it overlaps the bottom of the matted designer paper a bit on the right side.
Cut a 3" piece of Basic Black 3/8" Scalloped Edge Ribbon.
Tie a half knot in the center of the ribbon. Trim the ends.
Use a Mini Glue Dot to adhere the ribbon knot to the top of the lid in the angle where the bones in a jar cut out and sentiment label cut out meet.
