Spinning Chick |
|
T his adorable little chick is a great spring craft project for kids. Seriously this chick is too cute for words. I had trouble getting a good picture, because it kept spinning.
Begin with six 2 1/4 inch yellow circles. I used a punch, you could trace 6 circles and cut them out.
Cut a small triangle from orange paper for the beak.
Punch two wings with closed umbrella shape on Umbrella punch from yellow paper. If you don't have that punch, you could draw two wings.
Fold each circle in half.
Attach your orange triangle beak to edge of one circle.
Glue circles together, stopping when you you have the last two to glue to complete the sphere.
Cut 18" of twine, string, or a thin ribbon.
Fold twine in half, tie a knot 4 1/2" from the folded end of the twine.
Place twine inside the sphere, with know at bottom of sphere.
Glue the sphere closed, put extra glue over the string.
Tie a button (or you could use a bead) at the bottom of each piece of twine. Double knot and if you have a liquid glue put a dot on each knot.
Use a black marker to add a dot for eye on each side of beak.
I used a solid yellow paper for the chick, you could use different color papers or a print paper would be cute.
