Snowflake Wishes Emboss Resist Snowflake |
P retty thank you card using an emboss resist technique and Stampin' Up! products.
Cut cardstock and designer paper pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- card from Misty Moonlight Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Shimmery White Cardstock
- 1-3/4" x 4" of tiny white snowflakes on mottled blue background design from Snowflake Splendor Designer Series Paper
As you are ready to stamp using the Snowflake Wishes Set, place the cardstock or designer paper on the Stampin' Pierce Mat. Using the mat will help you get a cleaner image each time you stamp.
Mount the medium-sized, spiky snowflake with a large center that measures 2-5/8" across from the Snowflake Wishes Set on Block C. Ink it up with the Misty Moonlight Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the vertical Shimmery White rectangle so it is about 1-1/8" from the top edge. Set aside to dry.
Mount the sentiment of choice from the Snowflake Wishes Set on an appropriate size block. Ink it up with the Misty Moonlight Ink Pad. Stamp it on the lower right side of the horizontal Snowflake Splendor Designer Paper rectangle.
If the ink on the snowflake stamped on the shimmery cardstock is completely dry, proceed with the next step.
Tip: You can speed up drying a bit with the Heat Tool.
Mount the largest, most solid snowflake image from the Snowflake Wishes Set on Block D. Ink it up with the VersaMark Pad. Stamp it directly over the previously stamped snowflake image on the shimmery cardstock so it is centered over the smaller snowflake.
Lay the stamped shimmery cardstock rectangle on top of some Grid Paper in the center. Sprinkle on some Clear Stampin' Emboss Powder so it covers the stamped image. Tap off excess powder. Return the excess powder to the container to use again later.
Heat the powder with the Heat Tool until it is completely melted (shiny, clear, and smooth).
Tip: Use a clothespin to hold the cardstock while using the Heat Tool to avoid burning your fingers.
Rub a Blending Brush across the open Seaside Spray Ink Pad to get it inky. Then, lightly rub it over the heat embossed snowflake until the snowflake really pops out. Get more ink on the Blending Brush as needed.
Tip: I just clean my Blending Brushes when I'm done using them by running them under water until no more color is coming off. Then, I let them air dry. They may be stained, but they are clean enough to use with any color of ink in the future.
Adhere the stamped strip of designer paper to the bottom of the stamped, heat embossed, and blended shimmery cardstock rectangle.
Cut a 5" piece of the Snowflake Splendor 1/4" Ribbon.
Lay the ribbon across the designer paper/cardstock layers so it hides the seam between the designer paper and shimmery cardstock rectangle. Flip the rectangle over and fold the ends of the ribbon over. Adhere the ends of the ribbon in place with pieces of Tear & Tape Adhesive.
Remove the protective backing from the Tear & Tape strips and add Stampin' Seal to the back of the shimmery cardstock rectangle. Adhere it to the front of the Misty Moonlight card.
Cut a 3-1/2" piece of the Snowflake Splendor 1/4" Ribbon.
Tie a half knot in the center of the ribbon. Trim the ends.
Use a Mini Glue Dot to adhere the ribbon knot to the top of the ribbon already on the card front on the left side.
Use the mini spatula on the Take Your Pick to carefully peel up 3 Just Jade snowflakes from a sheet of Snowflake Adhesive-Backed Embellishments making sure that you get the adhesive backings as well. Adhere them randomly to the front of the card around the embossed snowflake.
