Snailed It Purple Snail Congrats |
F un congratulations card using Stampin' Up! products.
Cut cardstock pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- card from Highland Heather Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Purple Posy Cardstock
- 3/4" x 4" from Highland Heather Cardstock
- 2-1/2" square from Basic White Cardstock
Carefully remove a magnet from the back of the Stamparatus.
Tip: To make it easier to grab the magnets and to help keep them from breaking if they snap together, wrap them in strips of washi tape or masking tape leaving folded over pieces to grab on to.
Place the Stamparatus in front of you with the open sides of the Stamparatus on the left and bottom. Insert one hinged plate into the Stamparatus on the right side so it is in the topmost hinge space. Put the Stamparatus Foam Mat on the base of the Stamparatus. Put a piece of Small Grid Paper on the foam mat on the base of the Stamparatus.
Place the Purple Posy Cardstock on the base of the Stamparatus so the cardstock is horizontal and is pushed into the upper right corner of the Stamparatus base. Use one magnet in the upper right corner to hold the cardstock in place.
Pick out the "You Snailed It!" sentiment from the Snailed It Set. Place the sentiment upside down on the cardstock on the Stamparatus base so that the sentiment is in the upper left corner of the cardstock. Close the plate on the Stamparatus and press firmly so the stamp sticks to the plate. Open the plate.
Remove the Purple Posy Cardstock from the Stamparatus for the moment.
Ink up the stamp on the plate using the Highland Heather Ink Pad. If you get excess ink on the plate, you can wipe it off with a baby wipe or tissue or the Simply Shammy. Close the plate onto the Small Grid Paper on the Stamparatus base and press down firmly. Open the plate.
Tip: Slide a Clear-Mount Stamp Case under the plate before inking up the stamp. This gives you a firm, flat surface to push against making it easier to ink up the stamp.
Tip: If you have a Highland Heather Stampin' Spot on hand, use it to ink up the stamp instead of a full sized ink pad. It will give you more control and will help keep stray ink from getting on the plate.
Put the Purple Posy Cardstock back on the Stamparatus base just like before. Close the plate WITHOUT RE-INKING onto the cardstock and press down firmly. Open the plate.
Remove the plate from the hinges and then reinsert it in the hinges one step down. Leave the cardstock in place. Re-ink the stamp on the plate using the Highland Heather Ink Pad. Stamp.
Remove the plate from the hinges and then reinsert it in the hinges one step down. Leave the cardstock in place. Re-ink the stamp on the plate using the Highland Heather Ink Pad. Stamp. Re-ink the stamp again with the Highland Heather Ink Pad and stamp it again without moving the plate or the cardstock.
Use the Simply Shammy to completely clean the stamp. Leave the stamp on the plate.
Remove the plate from the hinges and then reinsert it in the hinges one step down. Leave the cardstock in place. Re-ink the stamp on the plate, but this time use the Gorgeous Grape Ink Pad. Stamp.
Tip: Slide a Clear-Mount Stamp Case under the plate before inking up the stamp. This gives you a firm, flat surface to push against making it easier to ink up the stamp.
Tip: If you have a Gorgeous Grape Stampin' Spot on hand, use it to ink up the stamp instead of a full sized ink pad. It will give you more control and will help keep stray ink from getting on the plate.
Remove the cardstock from the Stamparatus. Clean the stamp and put it away.
Unlock the Lovely Labels Pick A Punch. Slide one short edge of the Highland Heather strip into the right side of the punch (the side of the punch with the flatter label top) as far as it will go. Punch.
Insert the punched Highland Heather strip into the Tasteful Textile 3D Embossing Folder. Use the line printed on the front of the embossing folder to help you line the cardstock up straight. Place the folder with the cardstock inside on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine and run through the machine.
Adhere the punched and dry embossed strip of Highland Heather to the stamped Purple Posy rectangle so the punched edge is on the left and is about 2" from the left side. The right, flat end of the Highland Heather strip should hang over the right edge of the Purple Posy rectangle. The bottom edge of the Highland Heather strip should be about 1/2" from the bottom edge of the Purple Posy rectangle.
Use Paper Snips to cut off excess Highland Heather cardstock on the right side of the Purple Posy rectangle.
Adhere the stamped Purple Posy rectangle with Highland Heather strip attached to the front of the Highland Heather card.
Mount the large snail with presents on his back image from the Snailed It Set on Block D. Ink it up with the Gorgeous Grape Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the white square.
Pick out the matching snail with presents die from the Snail Dies. Put it on top of the stamped snail image on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so the snail is centered in the die. Run through the machine.
Put the snail cut out on some Grid Paper to protect your work surface. You need to make sure that you protect your work surface with paper as the Stampin' Blends Markers do bleed through.
Use the Dark and Light Purple Posy Stampin' Blends to color in the snail's body and antenna, but leave the eyeballs white. Also color in the top, small package on his back.
Use the Dark and Light Bermuda Bay Stampin' Blends to color in the lines on the snail's shell and the larger, bottom package on his back.
Use the Dark and Light Highland Heather Stampin' Blends to color in the rest of the snail's shell.
Use the Color Lifter Stampin' Blends if needed to remove excess color.
Use Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the colored snail with presents cut out to the front of the card so it just overlaps the top of the Highland Heather punched strip near the left end.
Cut a 3-1/2" piece of the Purple 3/8" Tricolor Ribbon.
Tie a half knot in the center of the ribbon. Trim the ends.
Use a Mini Glue Dot to adhere the ribbon knot at a slight angle to the card front at the back of the snail's tail.
Use the Dark Highland Heather Stampin' Blends to color in one small, one medium, and one large Purple Posy dot on the sheet of Playing With Patterns Resin Dots while they are on the sheet to make them a slightly darker purple.
Use the mini spatula on the Take Your Pick to carefully peel up the colored Purple Posy dots from the sheet of Playing With Patterns Resin Dots making sure that you get the adhesive backings as well. Adhere them to the front of the card around the snail as shown.
