Slide and Lock |
T his card is quite easy and whips up in no time with just a few supplies.
Score the large piece of cardstock at 2-1/8" on each side and fold to meet in the middle. (This makes a traditional gate fold card.)
Attach a 1-7/8 x 5-1/4" strip of Paper Blooms Designer Series Paper (DSP) to outside of each flap.
For the slider, score two of the 3" squares at 1-1/2" and fold in half. Apply tear & tape along outer edges and folds (you will use 4 strips per folded square.)
Place folded white squares spine to spine and attach a 3 x 3" unfolded square to both the top and bottom. This makes the slider mechanism. Slide this over the card front, making sure the edges of the gate fold card fit right inside of the slider.
Decorate the 3 x 3" white square with a fussy cut image from Paper Blooms DSP and sentiment of your choice and attach to the 3-1/4 x 3-1/4" piece of Rococo Rose cardstock. Then attach these two layers to the 3-1/2 x 3-1/2" piece of Blushing Bride cardstock.
Decorate 4 x 5-1/4" white cardstock to your liking and adhere to inside of card.
Fold flaps towards the center. Slide decorated mechanism over "rails". Your Slide & Lock card is now complete and ready to send.
