Seasonal Chums Fall Candy Jars |
F un, decorated small mason jars filled with candies using Stampin' Up! products.
Cut cardstock pieces to the following sizes using a Stampin' Trimmer:
- 2-3/4" square from Old Olive Cardstock
- 2-1/2" square from Cherry Cobbler Cardstock
- 1-1/2" square from Pumpkin Pie Cardstock
- 1-1/2" square from Cherry Cobbler Cardstock
- 2-1/2" square from Whisper White Cardstock
Mount the jack o lantern double image from the Seasonal Chums Set on Block I. Ink up only the back of the pumpkin image with the Memento Ink Pad. Stamp it on the Whisper White square.
Pick out the double pumpkin framelit from the Seasonal Tags Framelits. Place the stamped pumpkin image on the Cutting Pad on top of the Magnetic Platform on the Big Shot. Place the double pumpkin framelit on top so the one side is centered over the pumpkin image. Place a Cutting Pad on top and run through the Big Shot.
Use Paper Snips to trim off any excess cardstock at the top of the cut out pumpkin image, but be sure to leave the tag hole.
Place the stamped pumpkin cut out on top of some paper on your work surface (Grid Paper works great). You need to make sure that you protect your work surface with paper as the Stampin' Blends Markers do bleed through.
Color in the pumpkin using the Light Pumpkin Pie Stampin' Blends Marker. Add shadows with the Dark Pumpkin Pie Stampin' Blends Marker. Go over everything again with the Light Marker to blend the lines.
Use the Light Old Olive Stampin' Blends Marker to color in the vines, stem, and leaves. Add shadows with the Dark Old Olive Stampin' Blends Marker. Go over everything again with the Light Marker to blend the lines.
As you are ready to stamp using the Tags & Tidings background stamp and the Colorful Seasons Set, place the cardstock on the Stampin' Pierce Mat. Using the mat will help you get a cleaner image each time you stamp. Put a piece of Grid Paper on top of the Mat to protect it from ink.
Mount the Tags & Tidings Photopolymer background stamp on Block F. Place the mounted stamp on Grid Paper on your work surface so the stamp is facing up. Use the Memento Pad to ink up only the area around the "enjoy!" in the starburst circle in the lower right corner. Stamp the inky area onto the small square of Cherry Cobbler Cardstock so the "enjoy!" starburst circle is in the center of the square.
Place the stamped Cherry Cobbler square on the Cutting Pad on top of the Magnetic Platform on the Big Shot. Place the Christmas Tags Thinlits on top so the small round tag in the lower right corner is centered over the stamped "enjoy!" starburst circle image. Place a Cutting Pad on top and run through the Big Shot.
Tip: Make sure none of the thinlit hangs over the edges of the platform or it will catch on the sides of the Big Shot which could damage your thinlit or Big Shot or both.
Use a Mini Glue Dot on the back of the "enjoy!" tag to adhere the tag to the colored pumpkin tag so the holes in the two tags line up.
Cut a 5" piece of Linen Thread. Fold it in half. Feed the folded end of the thread through the tag holes from the front. Open the loop a bit and feed the loose ends of the thread through. Tighten the threads.
Use a small piece of Tear & Tape Adhesive to adhere the loose ends of the thread to the top of the jar lid. Make sure the tags hang down below the base of the lid. Trim off excess thread. Leave the protective backing on the Tear & Tape in place for now.
Pick out the circle framelit from the Layering Circles Framelits that cuts out a circle that is 2-3/8" diameter. Place the Old Olive square on the Cutting Pad on top of the Platform on the Big Shot. Place the circle framelit on top. Place another Cutting Pad on top and run through the Big Shot.
Place the Old Olive circle cut out into the Petal Burst Embossing Folder. Place the folder with the cardstock circle inside on top of a Cutting Pad on your Big Shot Platform at the lowest possible setting. Place another Cutting Pad on top of the folder and run through the Big Shot.
Add some more strips of Tear & Tape to the top of the jar lid. Remove the protective backings from all the Tear & Tape and adhere the dry embossed circle cut out to the top of the lid.
Mount the veined leaf image from the Colorful Seasons Set on Block C. Ink it up with the Memento Pad. Stamp it in the center of the large Cherry Cobbler square.
Pick out the open, large leaf framelit from the Seasonal Layers Thinlits. Place the stamped leaf on the Cutting Pad on top of the Magnetic Platform on the Big Shot. Place the leaf framelit on top so it is centered over the stamped leaf image. Place a Cutting Pad on top and run through the Big Shot.
Adhere the stamped leaf cut out to the top of the jar lid.
Pick out the open, small leaf framelit from the Seasonal Layers Thinlits. Place the Pumpkin Pie square on the Cutting Pad on top of the Platform on the Big Shot. Place the leaf framelit on top. Place a Cutting Pad on top and run through the Big Shot.
Use a Stampin' Dimensional to adhere the small leaf cut out to the top of the jar lid so it overlaps the large leaf at the top.
Wrap the 5/8" Striped Burlap Trim around the sides of the jar lid to figure out how long of a piece of trim to cut off the roll. Cut the ends of the trim straight.
Adhere some strips of Tear & Tape Adhesive around the sides of the jar lid. Remove the protective backings and adhere the burlap trim. Make sure the loose ends start and finish just above the tags.
Cut a 5" piece of 5/8" Striped Burlap Trim. Tie a half knot in the center. Trim the ends at angles.
Use a small piece of Tear & Tape Adhesive on the back of the knot to adhere the knotted trim bow to the side of the jar lid so it covers the seam between the ends of the trim on the lid.
Cut a 3" piece of 3/16" Braided Linen Trim. Tie a half knot in the center. Fray the ends. Trim the ends.
Use a Mini Glue Dot to adhere the frayed linen trim knot to the jar lid over the ends of the stems on the leaves.
Fill the jar with treats and screw on the decorated lid.
