Create the base for the sampler from the 12" x 12" Whisper White Cardstock by measuring the inside of your frame and cutting the cardstock to the correct size.
Rule a pencil line approximately 1/2" around all edges. This will create the area you will be decorating with the rectangles.
If you have a frame the same size as the sample you will have an approximate area of 22.5 cm x 22.5 cm (8 3/4" x 8 3/4").
Create templates of all the Stitched Rectangles.
Use these templates to create the basic pattern inside the frame.
When you have worked out which size templates you need then cut all the rectangles you need from Night of Navy Cardstock.
Decorate each rectangle as you wish - or you can follow the sample.
If you are following the sample - note that the top layer has been die cut with the next size down rectangle die.
Rectangle 1 - Top Left Octopus
Die cut a piece of the rope design paper and adhere to the rectangle.
On Whisper White cardstock stamp an Octopus in Early Espresso and an Anchor in Night of Navy and die cut.
Die cut a Net and Starfish from Sahara Sand cardstock.
Adhere the Octopus to the top middle. Fold up the netting and adhere to the bottom left side over the Octopus. Tie some linen thread to the Anchor and adhere both the Anchor and StarFish with dimensionals as shown in the photo.
Ensure that you wrap the linen thread around the side to ensure that it is neat.
Card 2 - Top Right - Boat Scene
Die cut a Stitched Rectangle from Whisper White cardstock.
From the High Tide Stamp Set stamp the sand along the bottom in Sahara Sand Ink and the clumps of grass in Mossy Meadow Ink. Stamp the water image in both Balmy Blue Ink and Soft Sea Foam Ink.
On a piece of Whisper White cardstock stamp two small boats, one in Early Espresso and one in Night of Navy and the birds in Early Espresso.
Die cut the boats and fussy cut the birds (cut down to 2) and affix both with dimensionals.
Card 3 - Bottom Left - Boat and Sentiment
Die cut a piece of the striped DSP.
On a Whisper White piece of cardstock stamp the sentiment in Night of Navy and punch out with a circle punch, stamp a boat in Early Espresso and die cut and stamp some water in Balmy Blue.
Tear the Balmy Blue piece and adhere to the bottom of the striped DSP. Adhere the sentiment and the boat using dimensionals.
Card 4 - Bottom Right - Anchor, Wheel, Seaweed
Die cut a piece of the dark striped DSP.
Die cut a wheel from Early Espresso cardstock and seaweed from Mossy Meadow and Garden Green cardstock.
Stamp the anchor in Early Espresso on a piece of Whisper White cardstock and die cut.
Tie some twine through the anchor.
Adhere the seawood to the middle of the striped paper and then the wheel.
Using dimensionals affix the anchor over the top and run the twine up to the top of the piece.
Card 5 - Middle Card - Lighthouse
On this sample I hand cut the Whisper White cardstock piece to be just a little smaller than the base piece.
Using an AquaPainter apply a colour wash of Pool Party Ink.
Tear a piece of dark blue striped paper into a strip and adhere to the lower section.
Stamp a lighthouse in Early Espresso on a piece of Whisper White cardstock and die cut.
Tie some Whisper White twine twice around the striped paper and tie in a bow to the right side. Tie an anchor embellishment on before completing the bow. I also added a bit of glue to the anchor to keep it in one place.
Affix the lighthouse with dimensionals.
Stamp flying birds in Early Espresso on either side of the lighthouse.
Card 6 - Top Middle - Saying
Stamp the saying "You Have The Most Amazing Ability etc" twice, once in Night of Navy and again in Balmy Blue on a piece of Whisper White cardstock.
Using scissors cut that sentiment apart and affix the words (Night of Navy) flat to the base.
Affix the Shine word (Balmy Blue) with dimensionals.
Card 7 - Bottom Centre Compass
Die cut a piece of DSP.
Stamp a compass in Early Espresso ink on a piece of Whisper White cardstock and punch out with a circle punch.
Adhere the compass to the middle of the DSP with dimensionals and glue a wheel embellishment to the left hand side of the compass.
Now that all the pieces have been finished you can adhere each piece into place on the prepared White Cardstock and then insert into your frame.
