Poinsettia Petals Shimmery Poinsettia |
A shimmery holiday card using Stampin' Up! products.
Cut cardstock and specialty paper pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- card from Real Red Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Whisper White Cardstock
- 3" x 4-1/4" from Real Red Cardstock
- 3" x 4-1/4" of flocked poinsettias on vellum design from Plush Poinsettia Specialty Paper
- 3" x 3-1/4" from Whisper White Cardstock
- 1" x 2-1/2" from Whisper White Cardstock
As you are ready to stamp using the Poinsettia Petals Set, place the cardstock on the Stampin' Pierce Mat. Using the mat will help you get a cleaner image each time you stamp.
Mount the large, full poinsettia image from the Poinsettia Petals Set on Block E. Ink it up with the Real Red Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the 3" x 3-1/4" white rectangle.
Pick out the full poinsettia die that matches the stamped poinsettia image from the Poinsettia Dies. Put it on top of the stamped poinsettia image on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so the image is centered in the die. Run through the tool.
Unlock the Banners Pick A Punch. Slide one short edge of the 1" wide white strip into the left side of the punch (the side of the punch with the outward notched top) as far as it will go. Punch.
Mount the "Happy Holidays" sentiment from the Poinsettia Petals Set on Block B. Ink it up with the Real Red Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the punched strip as close to the right edge as possible with the pointy end on the right side.
Place the poinsettia cut out and the stamped sentiment strip on some Grid Paper to protect your work surface.
Shake the bottle of Frost White Shimmer Paint while the lid is on tight. Remove the lid and place it on some Grid Paper on your work surface open end up. Poke a Sponge Dauber down into the lid to pick up some of the shimmer paint.
Daub the Sponge Dauber with Shimmer Paint on it all over the poinsettia cut out and the sentiment strip until you have the coverage you want. Get more Shimmer Paint on the Dauber as needed.
Put little dabs of Stampin' Seal on the back of the Plush Poinsettia Specialty Paper where they will be hidden by the flocked images.
Adhere the Plush Poinsettia Specialty Paper to the Real Red rectangle.
Cut a 3-3/4" piece of the Real Red 3/8" Sheer Ribbon.
Lay the ribbon across the bottom of the cardstock/specialty paper rectangle so it is about 3/4" from the bottom. Flip the layers over and fold the ends of the ribbon over. Adhere the ends of the ribbon in place with pieces of Tear & Tape Adhesive.
Adhere the shimmer painted sentiment strip to the upper left side of the cardstock/specialty paper rectangle so it is about 1/2" from the top and the left edge of the sentiment is just inside the left edge of the rectangle. Use Paper Snips to trim off excess white cardstock on the left edge.
Insert the large, white rectangle into the Dainty Diamonds 3D Embossing Folder. Place the folder with the paper inside on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine platform and run through the machine.
Adhere the dry embossed white rectangle to the front of the Real Red card.
Remove the protective backing from the Tear & Tape strips and add Stampin' Seal to the back of the cardstock/specialty paper rectangle with sentiment strip attached. Adhere it to the front of the card in the center.
Adhere the shimmer painted poinsettia cut out to the front of the card so it overlaps the ribbon on the lower right side of the cardstock/specialty paper rectangle.
Pick out a Beaded Pearls embellishment.
Use a Mini Glue Dot to adhere the Beaded Pearls embellishment to the center of the poinsettia cut out.
