Painted Poppies Spring Gold Leaves |
P retty thank you card using Stampin' Up! products.
Cut cardstock and designer paper pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- card from Granny Apple Green Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Garden Green Cardstock
- 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" of layered leaves in different shades of green design from Berry Delightful Designer Series Paper
- 1-3/4" x 2-3/4" from Garden Green Cardstock
- 1-3/4" x 2-3/4" from Granny Apple Green Cardstock
- scraps of layered leaves in different shades of green design from Berry Delightful Designer Series Paper
Mount the single leaf image from the Painted Poppies Set on Block B. Ink it up with the Shaded Spruce Ink Pad. Stamp it randomly all over the large rectangle of Berry Delightful Designer Series Paper. Remember to re-ink the stamp each time. Let some of the images go off the edges of the paper. Change the orientation of the stamp each time. Leave the stamp on the block.
Open the Gilded Leafing Embellishment and pour at least some of it into a large container with a lid. Be careful, the leafing tends to go everywhere!
Lightly rub the edge of the VersaMark Pad across the stamped designer paper rectangle several times in different directions.
Lay the stamped and streaked designer paper rectangle on top of some Grid Paper in the center. Sprinkle on some Heat & Stick Powder so it covers the entire rectangle. Tap off excess powder. If desired, use a paintbrush to brush off more powder so it is in streaks. Return the excess powder to the container to use again later.
BE READY TO WORK QUICKLY!
Heat the powder with the Heat Tool until it is completely melted (shiny, clear, and smooth).
Tip: Use a clothespin to hold the designer paper rectangle while using the Heat Tool to avoid burning your fingers.
Dip the designer paper rectangle with heated powder into the Gilded Leafing Embellishment container and press down lightly.
Remove the designer paper rectangle from the container and use the paintbrush to brush off excess leafing embellishment. Return the leafing embellishment to the container to use again later.
Tip: It may be easier to add VersaMark, Heat & Stick Powder, and Gilded Leafing Embellishment to half of the designer paper rectangle at a time.
Adhere the stamped and gilded designer paper rectangle to the large Garden Green rectangle and then to the front of the Granny Apple Green card.
Cut a 4" piece of the Old Olive/Pretty Peacock 3/8" Reversible Ribbon so it has a sharp angle on each end.
Lay the ribbon across the center of the card front. Use a small piece of Tear & Tape Adhesive across the ribbon in the center to hold it in place. Leave the protective backing in place for now.
Mount the "thank you" sentiment from the Peaceful Moments Set on Block C. Ink it up with the Shaded Spruce Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the Granny Apple Green rectangle.
Pick out the smooth oval die from the Layering Ovals Dies that cuts out a smooth oval that is 1-1/16" x 2". Put it on top of the stamped sentiment on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so the sentiment is centered. Run through the tool.
Pick out the scalloped oval die from the Layering Ovals Dies that cuts out a scalloped oval that is 1-1/2" x 2-7/16". Put it on top of the small Garden Green rectangle on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine. Run through the tool.
Adhere the sentiment oval cut out to the center of the scalloped oval cut out.
Remove the protective backing from the Tear & Tape Adhesive holding the ribbon in place and add some Stampin' Seal to the back of the matted sentiment ovals. Adhere the sentiment ovals to the card front so they are centered over the ribbon.
Re-ink the single leaf image on Block B with the Shaded Spruce Ink Pad. Stamp it twice onto scraps of Berry Delightful Designer Series Paper so you get two different shades of green leaves. Remember to re-ink the stamp each time.
Use Paper Snips to cut out the two leaf images on the scraps of designer paper. Cut off the stems.
Adhere the cut out leaves to the front of the card so they overlap each other slightly and overlap the right side of the sentiment ovals and hang down at a slight angle.
Use the mini spatula on the Take Your Pick to carefully peel up a medium gem from a sheet of Gilded Gems making sure that you get the adhesive backing as well. Adhere it to the front of the card so it overlaps the bases of the leaves on the right side of the sentiment ovals.
