Ornate Style Bloom Border Birthday |
A nother pretty birthday card using Stampin' Up! products.
Cut cardstock and designer paper pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- card from Old Olive Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" of darker coral medallions in rows on light coral background design from Ornate Garden Specialty Designer Series Paper
- 2-1/2" x 3-1/2" from Terracotta Tile Cardstock
- 2-3/8" x 3-3/8" from Basic White Cardstock
- 1-3/4" x 5-1/2" from Old Olive Cardstock
- 1-1/4" x 3" from Calypso Coral Cardstock
- 1-1/4" x 3" from Terracotta Tile Cardstock
Adhere the piece of Ornate Garden Specialty Designer Paper to the front of the Old Olive card.
Mount the sentiment of choice from the Butterfly Wishes Set on an appropriate size block. Ink it up with Old Olive Ink Pad. Stamp it on the horizontal white rectangle so it is about 1/2" from the top and left edges.
Mount the small, single flower with leaves image from the Ornate Style Set on Block A. Ink it up with the Memento Pad. Stamp it on the stamped, horizontal white rectangle just to the right of the stamped sentiment.
Make sure you have some paper (Grid Paper works great) at your work space.to protect the work surface. The Stampin' Blends Markers will bleed through the cardstock that you are coloring so you need to protect your work surface.
Place the stamped white rectangle on the work paper and start coloring with the Stampin' Blends Markers. The markers have a brush tip for coloring in larger areas and a fine tip for coloring in smaller areas.
Use the Dark Calypso Coral Stampin' Blends to color in the center of the flower.
Use the Dark and Light Calypso Coral Stampin' Blends to color in the rest of the flower.
Use the Dark and Light Old Olive Stampin' Blends to color in the leaves.
Use the Color Lifter Stampin' Blends as needed to remove excess color.
Adhere the stamped and colored white rectangle to the larger Terracotta Tile rectangle.
Adhere the matted white rectangle to the front of the horizontal card so it is centered side to side and is about 3/4" from the top edge of the card.
Pick out the long, skinny, detailed line of flowers die from the Ornate Borders Dies. Put it on top of the Old Olive strip on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so it cuts out as many of the flowers as possible. Run through the machine. Use the Take Your Pick Die Brush Tip and paper-piercing tool on the Take Your Pick to remove the pieces.
Use Paper Snips to trim off excess cardstock on one end of the detailed line of flowers cut out so the strip is only about 5" long.
Adhere the trimmed down, detailed line of flowers cut out to the front of the card so it is evenly spaced side to side and overlaps the bottom of the matted sentiment/flower rectangle a bit as shown.
Pick out all three individual flower dies from the Ornate Borders Dies. Put them on top of the small rectangles of Terracotta Tile and Calypso Coral on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine. Make sure the dies do NOT overlap. Run through the machine. Use the Take Your Pick Die Brush Tip and paper-piercing tool on the Take Your Pick to remove the pieces. Repeat until you have cut out 2 large flowers, one each of Calypso Coral and Terracotta Tile, and 1 small and 1 medium flower of the two different colors.
Use Mini Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the flower cut outs to the centers of the more solid green flowers on the detailed line of flowers cut out.
Use the brush tip of the Dark Cajun Craze Stampin' Blends to color 7 small clear epoxy dots while they are on the sheet of Frosted & Clear Epoxy Droplets.
Use the mini spatula on the Take Your Pick to carefully peel up the colored epoxy dots making sure that you get the adhesive backings as well. Adhere them to the centers of the flowers as shown.
