Nuts & Bolts Rusty Robot Birthday Love |
P layful birthday card using Stampin' Up! products.
Cut cardstock and designer paper pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- card from Cherry Cobbler Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" of tiny white hearts on black background design from All Together 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper
- 2" x 5-1/4" of small solid and outlined black hearts on white background design from All Together 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper
- 3-1/4" square from Basic White Cardstock
- 1-3/4" square from Basic White Cardstock
Put the strip of small solid and outlined black hearts on white background All Together Designer Paper on some Grid Paper to protect your work surface. You need to make sure that you protect your work surface with paper as the Stampin' Blends Markers do bleed through.
Use the Dark Cherry Cobbler Stampin' Blends to color in some of the outlined hearts at random.
Adhere the altered designer paper strip to the left side of the large designer paper rectangle so the top and bottom edges are even and there is about 3/8" of the black designer paper showing on the left side.
Adhere the layered designer paper to the front of the Cherry Cobbler card.
Mount the robot holding a heart image from the Nuts & Bolts Set on Block D. Ink it up with the Memento Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the large white square.
Mount the shadow lines image from the Nuts & Bolts Set on Block G. Ink it up with the Memento Ink Pad. Stamp once onto Grid Paper, then stamp it on the large white square just under the robot's feet.
Pick out the circle die that cuts out a 2-5/8" circle from the Stylish Shapes Dies. Put it on top of the stamped robot image on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so the image is centered in the die. Run through the machine.
Put the robot circle cut out on some Grid Paper to protect your work surface. You need to make sure that you protect your work surface with paper as the Stampin' Blends Markers do bleed through.
Use the Light and Dark Cherry Cobbler Stampin' Blends to color in the heart the robot is holding and the lights at the ends of his antennae.
Use the Light and Dark Cajun Craze Stampin' Blends to add some spots of rust randomly to the robot.
Use the Light and Dark Smoky Slate Stampin' Blends to color in the rest of the robot and blend in the rust spots.
Adhere the colored robot circle cut out to the front of the card so the bottom is about 1" from the bottom and the left edge is about 3/8" from the left edge of the white designer paper strip.
Mount the "HB2U" sentiment from the Nuts & Bolts Set on Block G. Ink it up with the Cherry Cobbler Ink Pad and stamp it in the center of the small white square.
Pick out the circle die that cuts out a 1-1/4" circle from the Stylish Shapes Dies. Put it on top of the stamped sentiment on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so the sentiment is centered in the die. Run through the machine.
Use Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the sentiment circle cut out to the front of the card so it overlaps the lower right side of the robot circle cut out as shown.
Cut a 3-1/2" piece of the Black & White 1/4" Gingham Ribbon.
Lay the ribbon on some Grid Paper to protect your work surface. You need to make sure that you protect your work surface with paper as the Stampin' Blends Markers do bleed through.
Use the Light Cherry Cobbler Stampin' Blends to color both sides of the ribbon.
Tie a half knot in the center of the colored ribbon. Trim the ends.
Put a tiny dot of Multipurpose Liquid Glue on the card front in the angle formed by the two circle cut outs on the lower left side. Press the ribbon knot to the glue and hold in place for a few minutes to let it stick.
