Nuts About Squirrels Mouse Cheese Dream |
P layful "out-of-the-box" birthday card using Stampin' Up! products.
Cut cardstock pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- card from Gray Granite Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Very Vanilla Cardstock
- 3-3/4" x 4-3/4" from So Saffron Cardstock
- 2" square from Smoky Slate Cardstock
Slide one corner of the large vanilla rectangle into the angle of the Detailed Trio Punch that corner rounds. Use the guides on the base of the punch to line up the corner in the punch. Press down firmly on the center of the punch to punch. Repeat until you have corner rounded all 4 corners of the rectangle.
Pick out the grouping of circles die from the Picture This Dies. Put it on top of the corner-rounded vanilla rectangle on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so the die is centered on the cardstock. Run through the machine. KEEP ALL THE PIECES!
Insert the large corner-rounded vanilla rectangle with the holes cut out of it into the Painted Texture 3D Embossing Folder. Place the folder with the cardstock inside on the platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine and run through the machine.
Insert the large So Saffron rectangle into the Painted Texture 3D Embossing Folder. Place the folder with the cardstock inside on the platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine and run through the machine.
Adhere the large, corner-rounded, dry embossed vanilla rectangle with the holes cut out of it to the dry embossed So Saffron rectangle. Use Paper Snips Scissors as needed to cut off any So Saffron Cardstock showing past the edges of the vanilla cardstock.
Adhere the layered "Swiss cheese" rectangle to the front of the Gray Granite card so one medium sized circle is in the lower left corner.
As you are ready to stamp using the Nuts About Squirrels Set, place the cardstock on the Stampin' Pierce Mat. Using the mat will help you get a cleaner image each time you stamp. Put a piece of Grid Paper on top of the Mat to protect it from ink.
Mount the large, outline, crawling squirrel image from the Nuts About Squirrels Set on Block D. Ink it up with the Basic Gray Ink Pad. Stamp it on the small square of Smoky Slate so you get the squirrel's body. Don't worry about getting all of the tail as you will be cutting it off anyway.
Mount the large, solid, crawling squirrel image from the Nuts About Squirrels Set on Block D. Ink it up with the Gray Granite Ink Pad. Stamp it on the small square of Smoky Slate inside the previously stamped outline squirrel body. Try to line up the feet of the image as best you can. Don't worry about getting all of the tail as you will be cutting it off anyway.
Use Paper Snips Scissors to cut out the squirrel's body by hand. Cut the tail off completely!
Cut a 2" piece of the Gray Granite Baker's Twine from the Baker's Twine Essentials Pack.
Adhere the piece of Baker's Twine to the back of the squirrel body cut out using a Stampin' Dimensional so it will be the tail of the "mouse."
Add more Stampin' Dimensionals to the back of the mouse cut out as needed. Remove the protective backings and adhere the mouse cut out with tail attached to the front of the card so it overlaps the medium circle cut out in the lower left corner as shown.
Mount the "happy birthday" or "hey there!" sentiment from the Nuts About Squirrels Set on Block G. By carefully pressing the stamp to the edge of the open Crushed Curry Ink Pad, ink up ONLY the word "happy" or the word "hey." Stamp the inked up word in the center of one of the saved small circle cut outs from the vanilla rectangle. Clean the stamp using the Stampin' Scrub and Stampin' Mist Stamp Cleaner and/or Simply Shammy, but leave the stamp on the block.
By carefully pressing the sentiment stamp on Block G to the edge of the open Crushed Curry Ink Pad, ink up ONLY the word "birthday" or the word "there!" Stamp the inked up word in the center of one of the saved medium circle cut outs from the vanilla rectangle. Clean the stamp using the Stampin' Scrub and Stampin' Mist Stamp Cleaner and/or Simply Shammy and put it away.
Use Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the circle sentiment cut outs to the front of the card as shown so they overlap some of the "Swiss cheese" circles.
Cut an 8" piece of the Gray Granite Baker's Twine from the Baker's Twine Essentials Pack.
Tie a small bow in the center of the twine. Trim the ends.
Use a Mini Glue Dot to adhere the twine bow at a slight angle to the card front on the lower right side of the medium sentiment circle cut out.
