Nature's Prints Framed Fern Wishes |
P retty card using Stampin' Up! products.
Cut cardstock and designer paper pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- card from Starry Sky Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4"" x 5-1/4" from Orchid Oasis Cardstock
- 2-3/4" x 3-3/4" of small whitish ferns on dark blue background design from Sun Prints 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper
- 2-1/4" x 3-1/4" from Basic White Cardstock
- 2" x 3-1/2" from Basic White Cardstock
- 2" square from Starry Sky Cardstock
Insert the Orchid Oasis rectangle into the Fern 3D Embossing Folder. Use the line printed on the front flap of the folder to make sure it is lined up straight. Place the folder with the cardstock inside on the platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine and run through the machine.
Adhere the dry embossed Orchid Oasis rectangle to the front of the Starry Sky card.
Adhere the piece of Sun Prints Designer Paper to the front of the card at a slight angle so the upper left corner is about 3/8" from the top of the card and the upper right corner is about 1/2" from the right edge of the card.
Mount the fern image from the Nature's Prints Set on Block C. Ink it up with the VersaMark Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the vertical 2-1/4" x 3-1/4" white rectangle.
Lay the stamped cardstock on top of some Grid Paper in the center. Sprinkle on some white powder from the Basics Stampin' Emboss Powders so it covers the entire square. Tap off excess powder. Return the excess powder to the container to use again later.
Heat the powder with the Heat Tool until it is completely melted (shiny and smooth).
Tip: Use a clothespin to hold the cardstock while you are heating it so you don't burn your fingers.
Mount the splatters image from the Nature's Prints Set on Block C. Ink it up with the Starry Sky Ink Pad. Stamp it several times on the heat embossed white rectangle so some of the splatters go over the heat embossed fern image. Stamp some of the images after stamping off on Grid Paper.
Rub a Blending Brush across the open Starry Sky Ink Pad to get it inky. Rub some of the ink off onto Grid Paper. Lightly rub the inky Blending Brush over the center of the heat embossed and stamped white rectangle . Get more ink on the Blending Brush as needed. Make sure you have a piece of Grid Paper under the designer paper to protect your work surface.
Tip: I just clean my Blending Brushes when I'm done using them by running them under water until no more color is coming off. Then, I let them air dry. They may be stained, but they are clean enough to use with any color of ink in the future.
Use a tissue or paper towel to rub off excess ink puddled on the heat embossed image.
Adhere the stamped, heat embossed, and blended fern image rectangle to the front of the card at a slight angle so the upper left corner touches the left side of the designer paper rectangle about 1/2" from the top and the upper right corner touches the top of the designer paper rectangle about 1/2" from the right side.
Mount the sentiment of choice from the Nature's Prints Set on Block H. Ink it up with the Starry Sky Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the 2" x 3-1/2" white rectangle.
Pick out the label die from the Natural Prints Dies. Put it on top of the stamped sentiment on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so the sentiment is centered in the die. Run through the machine.
Pick out the circle die that cuts out a 1-11/16" circle from the Stylish Shapes Dies. Put it on top of the Starry Sky square on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine. Run through the machine.
Adhere the sentiment label cut out to the center of the circle cut out so some of the circle shows above and below the bumps in the center of the label cut out.
Use Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the layered sentiment cut out to the front of the card so it overlaps the bottom right side of the layered designer paper/stamped white rectangles as shown.
Cut a 4-1/2" piece of the 1-1/2" Metallic Mesh Ribbon.
Twist the ribbon to make it a long thin strip. Tie a half knot in the center of the twisted ribbon. Use Paper Snips Scissors to cut off some of the ends.
Use a Mini Glue Dot to adhere the ribbon knot at a slight angle as shown inside the notch on the left side of the sentiment label cut out.
Use the mini spatula on the Take Your Pick to carefully peel up 1 large Starry Sky or Orchid Oasis dot from the sheet of 2022-2024 In Color Matte Decorative Dots making sure that you get the adhesive backing as well. Adhere it to the sentiment label as desired.
