P ersonalized card for a police officer using Stampin' Up! products.
Cut cardstock and Foil Sheets pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- card from Shaded Spruce Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Basic Black Cardstock
- 1-1/4" x 4-1/2" from Shaded Spruce Cardstock
- 1-1/2" x 1-3/4" from Basic Black Cardstock
- 1-1/4" x 2-1/4" from Basic Black Cardstock
- 3/4" x 1-1/4" from Crumb Cake Cardstock
- 1-1/2" square from Gold Foil Sheets
- strip of Shaded Spruce Cardstock at least 1" wide and long enough for the name you want to stamp
Insert the large Basic Black rectangle into the Subtle 3D Embossing Folder so the lines in the folder are running vertically down the vertical rectangle of cardstock. Use the line printed on the front of the embossing folder to help you line the cardstock up straight. Place the folder with the cardstock inside on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine and run through the machine.
Pick out the long tie die from the Suit & Tie Dies. Put it on top of the 1-1/4" x 4-1/2" Shaded Spruce rectangle.on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine. Run through the machine.
Adhere the tie cut out to the center of the vertical dry embossed Basic Black rectangle so the top of the tie is about 1/2" from the top of the rectangle.
Pick out the smaller, solid collar pieces die from the Suit & Tie Dies. Put it on top of the 1-1/4" x 2-1/4" Basic Black rectangle.on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine. Run through the machine.
Adhere the collar cut out to the small rectangle of Crumb Cake Cardstock so the light brown shows through the notch at the top of the collar. Use Paper Snips to trim off any excess light brown cardstock showing in the notch at the bottom of the collar.
Adhere the collar cut out with Crumb Cake attached behind it to the top of the dry embossed black rectangle so the top edges are even and the notch in the bottom of the collar is centered over the top of the tie cut out.
Adhere the dry embossed black rectangle with tie and collar attached to the front of the Shaded Spruce card.
Pick out the pocket die from the Suit & Tie Dies. Put it on top of the remaining black rectangle on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine. Run through the machine.
Adhere the pocket cut out to the right side of the card front so it is centered between the tie and the right edge of the dry embossed black rectangle.
Pick out the small, open star die from the Stitched Stars Dies that cuts out a stitched, solid star that is 3/4" wide. Put it on top of the Gold Foil Sheets square on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine. Run through the machine.
Use a Mini Glue Dot to adhere the gold foil star cut out to the front of the card so the top of the star is fairly even with the top of the pocket and the star is centered between the tie and the left edge of the dry embossed black rectangle.
As you are ready to stamp using the Make A Difference Set, place the cardstock on the Stampin' Pierce Mat. Using the mat will help you get a cleaner image each time you stamp.
One at a time, mount the small, block letters you need to spell out a name from the Make A Difference Set on Block A. Ink them up with the Memento Pad and stamp them along the center of the thin strip of Shaded Spruce Cardstock to spell out the name.
If you prefer, you can mount all the letters on a larger block at the same time so you can ink them up once and stamp once. Just remember to spell things out backwards on the block so it stamps properly when you turn the block over to stamp with it. I recommend test stamping on scratch paper first to make sure everything is correct before stamping on the cardstock.
Tip: If you have trouble finding the right letters, try inking up the entire sheet of stamps and stamping onto a piece of white or vanilla cardstock. Use this as a reference to help you find the letter you want to use. Keep the stamped sheet image in the case with the stamp set to use on future projects as well.
Pick out the long, skinny, stitched die from the Suit & Tie Dies. Put it on top of the stamped name on the strip of Shaded Spruce Cardstock on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so it is centered over the name. Run through the die.
Use Paper Snips to trim off excess cardstock on either end of the name strip cut out.
Adhere the name strip cut out to the card front so it is centered just under the star cut out.
