Jar of Love, Swirly Scribbles, window card |

B est Fishes with this adorable 'window' card using the shaving cream technique for a unique background

Using watercolor paper, foam shaving cream, and Bermuda Bay ink refill, create a swirled background. (Link to a tutorial at the bottom of this recipe)
Create a card base:
Cut a sheet of Whisper White Thick cardstock in half 'long-ways'. You want the sheet to be 11" tall and 4.25" wide.
Score the sheet in half, at 5.5". (This particular card will open from the bottom.)
Bermuda Bay Cardstock: cut a small strip at 4 1/4" x 1/4"
Window sheet: Cut a piece 4 1/4" x 5.5"
Watercolor paper: once the paper is dry, cut these two sizes from it--
a.) 4" x 5 1/4", for the inside
b.) 4 1/4" x 3", for the front
Card base: Determine which is the card front.
Cut 3.5" off of the bottom of the card front.
Watercolor paper, front piece:
Using the Swirly Squibbles die, cut 'waves' out of the piece so it can fit across the card front. (You will have to 'eyeball' to determine how much of a bottom piece you want to leave.) Ideally, you'd like at least 1" or less remaining 'under' the waves, you will need this piece later.
Using Pumpkin Pie ink, stamp 3 fish onto Whisper White cardstock, then cut the fishes out with the die-cut in the Everyday Jars set.
Card front:
For this particular background, I did the "stamp-off" method for a very gentle color/image using Bermuda Bay ink.
Using the "splotches" stamp in the Swirly Bird stamp set, do the "stamp-off" method to create a light background (they kind of resemble bubbles)
You can use any kind of background you choose.
"Stamp-off" method:
a.) ink your stamp
b.) stamp a scrap piece of paper THREE/FOUR TIMES (this is the stamp-off method)
c.) without cleaning or re-inking the stamp, stamp onto your cardstock for a subdued color.
Stamp a sentiment in Pumpkin Pie ink. For this card, I used a sentiment combined from Special Celebrations (Happy Birthday), Thoughtful Banners (for the '&' symbol), and Jars of Love (Best Fishes.)
After the sentiment and background, flip the card base over, and glue the window sheet to the back of the car. Let the glue dry before flipping the card over to front side up.
TIP: glue the window sheet just a tiny bit under the score line. This will make closing the card easier. If the window sheet is too close or on the score line, it will make closing the card difficult.
On the card front:
a.) Glue the Bermuda Bay 1/4" strip to the bottom of the white cardstock.
b.) Glue the bottom of the waves, the waves, and fishes, to the window sheet.
Inside of the card: Glue the remaining watercolor paper inside the card.
You can stamp a sentiment if you'd like, but in this case, I left it black inside. Keep in mind that your sentiment may be seen through the window card front.
