Cut cardstock pieces to the following sizes using a Stampin' Trimmer:
- card from Berry Burst Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Whisper White Cardstock
- 2" x 4-1/4" from Whisper White Cardstock
- 3" x 3-1/2" from Whisper White Thick Cardstock
- 1-3/4" x 5-1/2" from Lemon Lime Twist Cardstock
- 3/4" x 4" from Lemon Lime Twist Cardstock
Mount the hummingbird image from the Humming Along Set on Block E. Ink it up with the StazOn Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the rectangle of Whisper White Thick Cardstock.
Tip: You can use regular Whisper White Cardstock, but I like using the Thick Cardstock when I watercolor as it is stronger.
One at a time, squeeze the lid of an ink pad to get a pool of ink in the lid. Open the pad but leave the lid exposed. Gently squeeze the Clear Wink of Stella Glitter Brush to get a drop or two of glittery liquid in the lid. Stir the glittery liquid and ink together with the brush tip of the Wink of Stella Brush. Start painting with the inks onto the image until you have the color coverage you want. Get more glittery liquid/ink on the tip of the brush as needed.
I used the following colors:
- Lemon Lime Twist for the bird's beak, wing feathers, and lower tail feathers.
- Berry Burst for the bird's upper tail feathers, belly, back of head, and center of back wing.
- Blackberry Bliss for the bird's back, edges of back wing, and throat.
Tip: Between colors, remember to scribble on Grid Paper to clean the tip of the Wink of Stella Glitter Brush until no more color is coming off.
Tip: If you don't want future projects to have glittery ink, then wipe out the lid of the ink pad with a paper towel or tissue or wet wipe when you are done using that color before closing the ink pad.
Set the colored hummingbird image aside to let it dry thoroughly.
Tip: You can speed up drying using the Heat Tool if desired.
Mount sentiment of choice from the Humming Along Stamp Set on an appropriately sized block. Ink it up with the Berry Burst Ink Pad. Stamp it in the lower right corner of the large white rectangle.
Insert the 2" x 4-1/4" strip of Whisper White Cardstock into the line of flowers embossing folder from the Petal Pair Textured Impressions Embossing Folders so the cardstock runs horizontally across the center of the pattern on the folder. Place the folder with the card stock inside on a Cutting Pad on the Big Shot Platform at the lowest possible setting. Place a Cutting Pad on top of the folder and run through the Big Shot.
Adhere the 3/4" x 4" strip of Lemon Lime Twist Cardstock to the back of the dry embossed white strip along one long edge so about 1/8" of Lemon Lime Twist Cardstock will show.
Pick out the right angle edge die with leaves on the end and leaves in the squared off tab from the Gatefold Blossoms Dies. Place the piece of 1-3/4" x 5-1/2" Lemon Lime Twist Cardstock on the Cutting Pad on top of the Platform on the Big Shot. Place the right angle edge framelit on top of the cardstock. Place another Cutting Pad on top and run through the Big Shot.
Adhere the leaf cut out strip of Lemon Lime Twist Cardstock to the back of the dry embossed white strip along the other long edge so about 1/8" of green shows along the whole edge and the leaves poke down. Trim off excess green cardstock with Paper Snips as needed.
Adhere the matted, dry embossed white strip to the top of the stamped large white rectangle so the top edge of the matted dry embossed strip is about 1" from the top. Use Paper Snips to trim off any excess cardstock.
Cut a 4-1/2" piece of the Lemon Lime Twist 1/4" Ombre Ribbon.
Lay the ribbon across the white rectangle so it covers the seam between the bottom of the dry embossed white strip and the leaf strip of Lemon Lime Twist. Flip the rectangle over and fold the ends of the ribbon over. Adhere the ends of the ribbon in place with pieces of Tear & Tape Adhesive.
Remove the protective backing from the Tear & Tape strips and add SNAIL to the back of the white rectangle. Adhere it to the front of the Berry Burst card.
If the hummingbird image is dry, cut it out by hand using Paper Snips.
Tip: If you have the coordinating Hummingbird Dies, you can use the die to cut out the hummingbird instead.
Adhere the hummingbird cut out to the front of the card using Stampin' Dimensionals so that the bird overlaps the left side of the dry embossed strip.
Use the mini spatula on the Take Your Pick to carefully peel up a large Blackberry Bliss dot from a sheet of Faceted Dots making sure that you get the adhesive backing as well. Adhere it to the upper right corner of the card front.
Use the mini spatula on the Take Your Pick to carefully peel up a tiny Blackberry Bliss dot from a sheet of Faceted Dots making sure that you get the adhesive backing as well. Adhere it to the eye of the hummingbird.
Cut a 3" piece of the Lemon Lime Twist 1/4" Ombre Ribbon.
Slide one end of the ribbon under the ribbon on the card front on the right side and tie it in place using a half knot. Trim the ends.
