Hey Love Skunk Sweet Treat Cup |
S tinkin' cute treat cup using Stampin' Up! products.
Follow the general directions for covering the Sweet Treat Cup using pieces of the diagonal Melon Mambo stripes design from the How Sweet It Is Designer Series Paper and Basic Gray Cardstock for the 3-1/4" square of colored cardstock for the lid.
Additional cardstock needed:
- 1-1/2" square of Melon Mambo Cardstock
To create the main image, mount the skunk image from the Hey Love Set on Block C. Ink it up with the Memento Pad. Stamp it in the center of the 3-1/4" Whisper White square.
Pick out the circle framelit from the Layering Circles Framelits that cuts out a 2-3/8" diameter circle. Place the stamped white square on the Cutting Pad on top of the Magnetic Platform on the Big Shot. Place the circle framelit on top so the image is centered. Place another Cutting Pad on top and run through the Big Shot.
Place the stamped circle cut out on top of some paper on your work surface (Grid Paper works great). You need to make sure that you protect your work surface with paper as the Stampin' Blends Markers do bleed through.
Start coloring with the Stampin' Blends Markers. The markers have a brush tip for coloring in larger areas and a fine tip for coloring in smaller areas. Use the dark colors first and then the light colors to blend the colors and color in the spaces. Work on one area at a time so the inks will be wet and will blend easier.
Use the Light Lovely Lipstick Marker to color in his nose.
Use the Dark Lovely Lipstick Marker to color in the hearts he is sprinkling.
Use the Dark Smoky Slate Marker to color in his body, arms, face, and bottom stripe on his tail.
Use the Color Lifter Marker as needed to remove excess ink.
Rub a Sponge Dauber across the open Melon Mambo Ink Pad to get it inky. Use the inky dauber to add color to the edges of the circle cut out. Get more ink on the dauber as needed. Keep adding ink until you get the look you want.
Tip: I just clean my Sponge Daubers when I'm done using them by running them under water until no more color is coming off. Then, I let them air dry. They may be stained, but they are clean enough to use with any color of ink in the future.
Adhere the colored skunk circle cut out to the center of the Basic Gray scalloped circle cut out. Then, adhere the matted circles to the center of the Sweet Cup lid.
Mount the "stinkin' sweet" sentiment from the Hey Love Set on Block B. Ink it up with the Memento Pad. Stamp it in the center of the Melon Mambo square.
Pick out the heart framelit from the Wood Crate Framelits. Place the stamped Melon Mambo square on the Cutting Pad on top of the Magnetic Platform on the Big Shot. Place the heart framelit on top so the sentiment is centered. Place another Cutting Pad on top and run through the Big Shot.
Use Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the sentiment heart cut out to the lid of the Sweet Cup on the lower left side of the stamped white circle so the heart overlaps the left foot and belly of the skunk and the Basic Gray scalloped circle a bit.
Use the brush tip of the Lovely Lipstick Dark Stampin' Blends to color a small heart on a sheet of Heart Epoxy Droplets while it is on the sheet.
Use the mini spatula on the Take Your Pick to carefully peel up the colored droplet making sure that you get the adhesive backing as well. Adhere it at a slight angle to the top of the Sweet Cup lid just to the right of the scattered hearts.
