Cut cardstock pieces to the following sizes using a Stampin' Trimmer:
- card from Highland Heather Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Gorgeous Grape Cardstock
- 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" from Whisper White Cardstock
- 3" x 4-1/2" from Whisper White Thick Cardstock
- scrap of Gorgeous Grape Cardstock at least 3" long
- scrap of Highland Heather Cardstock at least 3" long
- piece of copy paper torn by hand
Pick out the butterfly thinlit from the Springtime Impressions Thinlits. Place the piece of Whisper White Cardstock on the Precision Base Plate on top of the Platform on the Big Shot. Place the butterfly thinlit on top. Place a Cutting Pad on top and run through the Big Shot a couple of times. Use the Die Brush to remove the pieces.
Put a tiny bit of SNAIL Adhesive in the middle of the body of the butterfly cut out. Use the smallest amount of SNAIL possible.
Adhere the butterfly cut out at an angle to the lower left corner of the white rectangle so the lowest point of the butterfly wing is about 3/4" from the bottom edge of the cardstock. Remember not to use too much adhesive, just the tiny bit of SNAIL in the middle of the body.
Tear a piece of copy paper so you have an uneven line.
Lay the torn piece of copy paper across the top right corner of the white rectangle at an angle. Make sure it does NOT overlap the butterfly cut out adhered to the bottom left of the rectangle. VERY carefully, turn the cardstock and copy paper over and use a small piece of washi tape to hold the copy paper and cardstock in place (on the back side of the cardstock!).
Place the Handwritten background stamp on your work surface so the rubber is facing up. Make sure the top of the stamp is at the top of your work area or your words will be stamped upside down. Ink the stamp up with the Gorgeous Grape Ink Pad by rubbing the pad across the stamp. Leave the inked up stamp laying on your work surface inky rubber side up. Place the white rectangle with butterfly cut out and copy paper attached on top so the butterfly cut out and copy paper are facing down. Fold the Grid Paper over the stamp and rub firmly all over. Unfold the Grid Paper and carefully remove the cardstock and copy paper from the background stamp. Leave the copy paper attached to the cardstock and leave the butterfly cut out attached as well.
Leave the copy paper attached to the cardstock and leave the butterfly cut out attached as well.
Roll the Sponge Brayer across the open Highland Heather Ink Pad to get it inky. Then, roll it repeatedly onto the piece of cardstock across the edge of the copy paper and the butterfly cut out. Get more ink on the brayer as needed. Keep adding ink until you have the color saturation you want. Be careful not to let the wings of the butterfly move or lift or fold.
Remove the piece of washi tape holding the copy paper in place on the back of the cardstock. Place the cardstock back in front of you colored and stamped side up with the butterfly cut out still in place. Carefully move the copy paper to the right and up by about 1/4". Lightly roll the inky brayer across the line between the copy paper and the already inked cardstock to get a lighter line of purple.
Remove the copy paper and carefully remove the butterfly cut out as well. You should have a piece of cardstock with purple and words in the left corner with a white butterfly image.
Pick out a single-line sentiment of choice from the Itty Bitty Greetings Set. Mount it on Block G. Ink it up with the Gorgeous Grape Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the Highland Heather scrap of cardstock.
Unlock the Classic Label Punch. Holding the punch upside down so you can see the punching area, slide the stamped piece of cardstock into the punch and get the sentiment centered in the punching area. Punch. Leave the punch unlocked.
Slide the scrap of Gorgeous Grape Cardstock into the Classic Label Punch and punch.
Adhere the sentiment punch out to the Gorgeous Grape punch out so about 1/8" of the Gorgeous Grape shows on the left side.
Adhere the matted sentiment punch outs to the stamped and colored white rectangle about 3/4" from the top so the right edges of the punch outs go off the right edge of the white rectangle. Trim off excess cardstock using Paper Snips.
Cut a 5" piece of Silver 3/8" Metallic-Edge Ribbon.
Lay the ribbon across the bottom of the stamped and colored cardstock just under the butterfly image. Flip the cardstock over and fold the ends of the ribbon over. Adhere the ends of the ribbon in place with pieces of Tear & Tape Adhesive.
Cut a 4" piece of Silver 3/8" Metallic-Edge Ribbon.
Slide one end of the ribbon under the ribbon already on the card front on the left side. Tie it in place using a half knot. Trim the ends.
Remove the protective backing from the Tear & Tape strips and add more SNAIL to the back of the cardstock. Adhere it to the Gorgeous Grape rectangle and then to the front of the Highland Heather card.
Carefully peel up a medium rhinestones from a sheet of Rhinestone Basic Jewels making sure that you get the adhesive backing as well. Adhere it to the sentiment punch outs on the right or left side of the sentiment.
If desired, carefully peel up a large gem from a sheet of Clear Faceted Gems making sure that you get the adhesive backing as well. Adhere it to the body of the butterfly to cover any tearing or adhesive residue from where the butterfly cut out had been attached.
