Half Gatefold 'Happy Easter' Flowers Card (Coffee & Crafts March |
|
A 4"x6" Half Gatefold Card for Easter featuring the Easter Promise Stamp Set from the Jan-Jun 2020 Mini Catalogue.
|
|
Take a piece of Old Olive card stock measuring 6" x 8". With the long edge to the top of your trimmer or scoreboard, score down at 2" and 4". Fold the 4" scoreline as you would for a standard card base then fold the 2" scoreline back towards the center fold.
(As A4 cardstock is not 12" long, I cut my 6x4 bases slightly smaller so I can get 2 card bases out of my A4 card. This involves cutting the 6" side of the card at 5 27/32" instead. From here on, use the measurements in brackets when cutting the rest of your card pieces. If there are no bracketed measurements, everyone uses the same ones).
On a piece of Whisper White card stock measuring 2" x 2 3/4" stamp the "Happy Easter" greeting from the Easter Promise stamp set using Highland Heather Classic Stampin' Ink. Put this to one side.
On a piece of Whisper White card stock measuring 1 1/2" x 3 1/2", stamp the floral border from the Easter Promise stamp set using Jet Black Stazon Ink.
Place a drop each of Old Olive, Highland Heather, and Rococo Rose Classic Ink Refills into a pallet dish or a spare clear block, then, using either an Aquapainter Brush or a Blender Pen, pick up a little ink and colour your shaped image.
Using a piece of Stampin' Sponge (I cut mine into quarters), ink the edges of the sentiment and floral panels
Using your preferred adhesive (I use Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive as it give you a little 'wriggle time' to make sure it's in the right place) attach the sentiment and floral panels to the front of your card so that they overlap the fold as shown in the photo. Be careful where you put your adhesive so it doesn't ooze out past the fold.
Take a piece of Whisper White card stock measuring 5 3/4" x 4 3/4" (5 22/32" x 4 3/4") and, using Highland Heather Classic Ink, stamp the "May The Promise ..." sentiment, lining it up so that it is hidden by the Happy Easter when closed (you could use a pencil to make light marks where the front sentiment lies - rub these out after). Ink around the edges as in step 5.
Attach the inside panel using your preferred adhesive.
Your card is now finished so sit back and admire your creation.
