C hristmas Card with a Z-fold and partial die cut
|
|
|
For the card base, cut the paper to 11x4.25. Score at 5.5. One one side, place small score lines at the edges of the paper at the 2.75 measure. This will help with the Z-fold and lining up the die.
To partial cut the circle die, place the card onto your BigShot, then line up the 2-7/8 stiched circle die with the small score marks you made. Place the top plate over the die so that the edge lines up with the score marks. For this card, we cut the right side of the circle out. The BigShot will only cut where the pressure is from the top plate.
When using our alcohol based Blends for colouring we must remember to use a water based ink. While we have the Memento Tuxedo Black, I have actually chosed to use the Soft Suede Ink Pad in all outline stamping for a softer feel.
To build the inside scene you will need a piece of 4x5.25 of Pool Party, A piece of 1.25x5.25 piece of Whisper White cut with the landscape die. A die cut of the house, the wreath, the tree and a set of the bows for the fence can also be cut. I used Whisper White for everything except the bows are in Cherry Cobbler. I cut the fence with a piece of Whisper White with the Multi-purpose Adhesive Sheets on the back for easy sticking.
Using Blends and leaving the body of the house white, colour the house roof and porch with Crumb Cake, the door and shutters with Light Cherry Cobbler, Add a string of lights with stamped off once Mossy Meadow and turn them on with Dark Daffodil Delight. Colour the wreath with light Old Olive and the bow with light Cherry Cobbler. Colour the tree using a combination of Crumb Cake and Soft Suede. Lightly sponge some soft suede onto the fence for definition.
Using a sponge dauber and the Frost White Shimmer Paint, cover the landscape piece to create shimmery snow.
Starting with the fence. This piece is not long enough so you will need to cut into two pieces so that there is a small section to the left of the house and a longer section for the right. Adhere about 1/2 inch from the bottom of the Pool Party. Glue bows onto the posts.
Using dimensionals place the tree on the right side with the bottom lining up with the bottom of the fence. Adhere the snow landscape over top. Finish by adhering the house on the left sitting on the snow. In the bottom right corner using dimensionals add the small sentiment cut with the small rectangle die. The sentiment was stamped in Cherry Cobbler.
The whole scene can be adhered to the inside of the card.
For the front panels adhere two pieces of 2.5x4 inch DSP. These will center on each of the panels. Take care not to put adhesive on the part of the inside piece that will be exposed in the back. Adhere a 2-3/8 Mossy Meadow Stitched Circle to the 'middle' centered on the half cut circle on the card base.
Stamp the large sentiment twice, once in Soft Suede and once in Cherry Cobbler. Punch out the Suede sentiment using the 2 inch circle punch (concentrate on the curved words). Using the large banner die from the set cut out the just the Merry Christmas from the Cherry sentiment. Adhere the circle on the front of the card and the Merry Christmas using dimensionals.
Stamp the truck using Soft Suede ink and colour with the light Cherry Cobbler, the Smoky Slate combo, the dark Daffodil Delight and the dark Basic Black Blends. Use light Old Olive for the tree. Cut with the die and then adhere to the bottom of the card with Dimensionals.
Place a piece of Whisper White on the back of the card for your message and decorate this and the envelope with a stamp of your choice. I used the front half of the truck.
