Diamond Top Fold Card |
|
F un fold card to make an interesting presentation on the front, as well as inside.
|
Card stock base 7" x 9.5" on the 7" score at 3.5" or in half. On the 9.5" side score at 3.5 and make a light pencil mark at 4.5" on the 3.5" score line from the 7" side, then at 6" at the top and bottom of the card make 2 more pencil marks. Then using a scoring tool and a ruler score from the center pencil mark to the outside pencil marks on both sides. Burnish all score lines, the ones you made with the ruler will needs to be folded by hand only. To make the card fold so the top comes to a diamond, place the 7" end at the top and the first fold is valley going across the card and so is the fold going down the center of the card. The 2 hand folded score lines are mountain. Holding the card with the 9.5" across the top and the bottom section on your right, place a finger on top of the bottom of the card and your thumb under the card at the center and push the outside bottom corners up, which should make the mountain folds pop up against the top section, and once the bottom outsides are together the top will be the diamond shape and the base of the card will be vertical.
Decorate as you like, the sample used Piece of Cake stamp set and matching punch and Old Olive DSP and card stock and Night of Navy ink and Wink of Stella.
Card stock mat for outside and inside bottom sections is:
2 -- 3 1/4 x 4 3/4
Outside DSP for bottom section is 1 - 3" x 4 1/2"
Card stock mat for top outside is 3 1/4" x 3 1/4" and the white layer for the top is 3 5/8" x 3 5/8" stitched square which is the largest square in the Stitched Shapes Framelits. The inside white layer is 3" X 4.25". To get the angle cut on the mat layers the same as the angle fold, use the fold line as you guide and make a small light pencil mark on the left and right sides of each mat layer then connects the marks and cut on that connection line. You should end up with the top layer 1/8" smaller all around and the same angle as the fold along the top.
