Crafting With You Faux Tile |
|
R e-discovering a technique is always fun! Create a faux tile look simply by using a score board.
Measurements:
Starry Sky Cardstock -
11” x 4 ¼”, score @ 5 ½”
5 ½” x 4 ¼” for front layer
Lemon Lime Twist -
5 ¼” x 3 ¼”
Basic White -
5” x 3” for front
5 ¼” x 4” for the inside layer
2” x 2” square for 1 ¾” circle punch
Vellum -
2 ¼” x 2 ¼” square for 2” circle punch
Instructions:
- Score card base. Take the Starry Sky 5 1/4” x 4 ¼” layer and run it through the Cut & Emboss machine using the Exposed Brick 3D Embossing Folder. Attach to the card base.
- Take the Basic White 5” x 3” piece and score at 1” increments vertically and horizontally
- Using Starry Sky ink, stamp the larger flower image randomly around the scored Basic White layer. Fill in using the smaller flower using Lemon Lime Twist Ink. You don’t want to press down too hard when stamping, the intent is to have the indented lines stay white so that it looks like tile.
- Mount the scored Basic White panel on to the 5 ¼” x 3 ¼ piece of Lemon Lime Twist layer. Attach that to the left-hand side of the card front.
- Punch a 1 ¾” circle out of the 2” x 2” square of Basic White cardstock. Stamp your sentiment using Starry Sky Ink. Add the small heart stamp using Lemon Lime Twist ink.
- Punch a 2” circle out of the 2 ¼” x 2 ¼” piece of vellum. Layer the stamped circle onto the vellum circle using liquid glue. Mount the layered circle to the center-right of the card front using dimensionals.
- Using the Dark Starry Sky blends, color 3 Basic Rhinestones. Place them on your card front.
- Tie a bow using the Starry Sky Metallic Ribbon. Place it at the top of the layered circle.
- Stamp your sentiment of choice on the 5 ¼” x 4” piece of Basic White card stock. Stamp images of your choice using Lemon Lime Twist Ink. Adhere it to the inside of the card using liquid glue.
