Cut cardstock and designer paper pieces to the following sizes using a Stampin' Trimmer:
- card from Daffodil Delight Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Old Olive Cardstock
- 3-1/4" x 5-1/4" of swirls of green and yellow flowers and leaves on white background design from Delightful Daisy Designer Series Paper
- 3" square of Whisper White Cardstock
- 2" x 3-1/4" from Whisper White Thick Cardstock
-
Mount the flowerpot full of paintbrushes image from the Crafting Forever Set on Block E. Ink it up with the Basic Gray Archival Ink Pad. Stamp it on the Whisper White Thick Cardstock rectangle. I recommend using the thick cardstock for this because it holds up better to the watercoloring and the paintbrushes stand up better after you cut them out because the thick cardstock is stiffer. Allow the image to thoroughly dry.
Place the Old Olive rectangle into the Petal Burst Embossing Folder. Place the folder with the card stock inside on top of a Cutting Pad on the Big Shot Platform at the lowest possible setting. Place another Cutting Pad on top of the folder and run through the Big Shot.
Pick out the smooth square framelit from the Layering Squares Framelits that cuts out a 2-7/8" square. Place the Delightful Daisy Designer Paper on the Cutting Pad on top of the Magnetic Platform on the Big Shot. Place the square framelit on one of the short edges at an angle so that a point of the square is in the center of the designer paper and the two sides of the square will cut a triangle out of the bottom of the designer paper. Place another Cutting Pad on top and run through the Big Shot.
Mount the sentiment of choice from the Crafting Forever Stamp Set on Block B. Ink it up with the Old Olive Ink Pad. Stamp it just to the right of center on the square of Whisper White Cardstock.
Pick out the stitched circle framelit from the Stitched Shapes Framelits that cuts out a 2-3/8" circle. Place the stamped white card stock on the Cutting Pad on top of the Magnetic Platform on the Big Shot. Place the stitched circle framelit on top so the words are in the upper right. Place another Cutting Pad on top and run through the Big Shot.
Adhere the sentiment circle to the center of the designer paper banner so it almost touches the right side of the banner.
Cut at 4" piece of Daffodil Delight 1/4" Double-Stitched Ribbon.
Lay the ribbon piece across the center of the designer paper banner so it crosses the bottom of the sentiment circle. Flip the strip over and fold the ends of the ribbon over. Adhere them in place with pieces of Tear & Tape Adhesive across the ends.
Remove the protective backings from the Tear & Tape strips. Add more SNAIL Adhesive to the back of the designer paper banner. Adhere the banner to the center of the dry embossed Old Olive rectangle so the points of the banner almost touch the bottom of the Old Olive rectangle. Trim off excess designer paper at the top if needed.
Adhere the Old Olive layer to the front of the Daffodil Delight card.
Once the flowerpot full of paintbrushes image is completely dry, use an Aqua Painter filled with water to pick up ink from the pad lids and watercolor in the image. Before opening an ink pad, squeeze the lid into the pad. Then, open the pad, but leave the lid sticking out to the side. You should have a puddle of ink in the lid. Use the tip of the Aqua Painter to pick up color. Pick up more color from the pad lid as needed. Clean the tip of the brush between colors by scribbling on scratch paper. Remember to leave some areas darker than others for shading. I used the following inks:
- Tranquil Tide on the flowerpot and some of the paintbrush handles
- Daffodil Delight on some of the paintbrush handles, the Exacto knife, and the metal bands on the paintbrushes
- Old Olive on some of the paintbrush handles
- Basic Gray Archival on the brush bristles and the top of the pencil
Carefully cut out the flowerpot full of paintbrushes using Paper Snips.
Adhere the flowerpot image to the card front using Stampin' Dimensionals and small pieces of Dimensionals cut from the edges of the sheet with Paper Snips. Put the flowerpot image on so that it is to the left of the sentiment circle and the bottom of the flowerpot lines up with the bottom of the ribbon.
Cut a 4" piece of Daffodil Delight 1/4" Double-Stitched Ribbon. Slide one end under the ribbon on the card front and tie it in place next to the right side of the flowerpot bottom using a half knot. Trim the ends.
