P retty card perfect for a thinking of you or Valentine for a friend using paper piecing and Stampin' Up! products.
Cut cardstock and designer paper pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- card from Pale Papaya Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Flirty Flamingo Cardstock
- 1-1/2" x 5" of dark and light pink plaid on vanilla background design from Daffodil Afternoon 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper
- 2-1/8" x 3-5/8" from Pale Papaya Cardstock
- 2" x 3-1/2" from Very Vanilla Cardstock
- 2-1/2" x 3-1/4" from Pale Papaya Cardstock
- 1-1/2" square of tiny vanilla dots on pale pink background design from Daffodil Afternoon 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper
Insert the Flirty Flamingo rectangle into the Gingham Embossing Folder. Use the line printed on the front flap of the folder to make sure it is lined up straight. Place the folder with the cardstock inside on the platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine and run through the machine.
Adhere the dry embossed Flirty Flamingo rectangle to the front of the Pale Papaya card.
Adhere the strip of plaid Daffodil Afternoon Designer Paper to the left side of the card front so about 1/8" of Flirty Flamingo shows on the left, top, and bottom edges.
Cut a 5" piece of the Pale Papaya & White 1/2" Ribbon so it has a sharp angle on each end.
Adhere a 4" strip of Tear & Tape Adhesive vertically down the designer paper on the card front so the right edge of the Tear & Tape is about 3/8" from the right edge of the designer paper.
Remove the protective backing from the Tear & Tape strip and adhere the piece of ribbon to it so it is going down the right edge of the designer paper vertically.
Mount the girl with net image from the Catching Butterflies Set on Block E. Ink it up with the Memento Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the vertical vanilla rectangle. Leave the stamp on the block.
Re-ink dress area of the girl with net image on Block E with the Memento Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the small square of Daffodil Afternoon Designer Paper. Set the stamped square of designer paper aside for now.
Mount the shadow image from the Catching Butterflies Set on Block A. Ink it up with the Memento Ink Pad. Stamp it under the stamped girl with net image as shown.
Put the stamped vanilla rectangle on some Grid Paper to protect your work surface. You need to make sure that you protect your work surface with paper as the Stampin' Blends Markers do bleed through.
Use the fine tip of the Light Flirty Flamingo Stampin' Blends to add little dots of color to the girl's cheeks.
Use the fine tip of the Dark Flirty Flamingo Stampin' Blends to outline the girl's smile.
Use the Ivory Stampin' Blends to color in the girl's face, neck, hands, and legs.
Use the Color Lifter Stampin' Blends to blend the colors on her face and remove some of the color from the center of her face.
Use the Bronze Stampin' Blends to add some streaks to the girl's hair.
Use the Dark So Saffron Stampin' Blends to color in the rest of the girl's hair and blend in the streaks.
Use the Color Lifter Stampin' Blends as needed to remove excess color.
Don't worry about coloring in the girl's dress.
Use Paper Snips Scissors to carefully cut out the girl's dress from the stamped square of designer paper.
Use Multipurpose Liquid Glue or Fine-Tip Glue Pen to adhere the girl's dress cut out over the top of the dress on the stamped and colored image on the vanilla rectangle.
Adhere the stamped, colored, and paper pieced vanilla rectangle to the center of the 2-1/8" x 3-5/8" Pale Papaya rectangle.
Adhere the matted vanilla rectangle to the front of the card so it is centered over the right side of the designer paper strip and is about 3/4" from the top edge.
Mount the "collecting sweet thoughts of you" or the "celebrate every beautiful thing" sentiment from the Catching Butterflies Set on Block B. Ink it up with the Flirty Flamingo Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of one end of the 2-1/2" x 3-1/4" Flirty Flamingo strip leaving room to punch it out.
Unlock the smooth heart punch from the Heart Punch Pack. Holding the punch upside down so you can see the punching area, slide the stamped sentiment into the punch and get it centered in the punching area. Punch.
Use Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the sentiment heart punch out to the front of the card at a slight angle so it covers the lower right corner of the matted girl with net image as shown.
Use the mini spatula on the Take Your Pick to carefully peel up two small and one large butterfly from a sheet of Brushed Brass Butterflies making sure that you get the adhesive backings as well. Adhere them to the front of the card as shown.
