Beautiful Day butterfly card |
T
his nice big butterfly image makes a great "quick and easy project" with a just the right amount of fun coloring and a bit of sparkle! I love butterflies so when I saw this great card idea on the blog of Pootles..a very talented Stampin'UP! demo in the United Kingdom I couldn't resist changing it up a wee bit and making a card ...in the stamping world we call that a "CASE which stands for "copy and slightly edit" so thanks to Pootles for sharing your beautiful ideas!
My directions
1) Use Memento Tuxedo Black ink to Stamp the large butterfly at a slight angle in lower right corner of whire cardstock piece cut to 3.5" x4.75" .
After stamping, color it in with watercolor pencils...I chose Gorgeous Grape fromtge WC pencil assortment 2. I got a gradient look by coloring heavily in small areas then using my clear Wink of Stella pen to blend out the colors leaving it darker in some area, and lighter in others. You may not have purple butterflies in your area but in my head butterflies can be any color I like so choose whatever color palette you like and go for it!
2)Allow watercoloring to dry the run stamped and colored piece through your favorite embossing folder..for this project,I used the "Argyle" folder...my current fav and a nice way to make the card a little less feminine if you want to make cards which are "unisex".
3.)Adhere dry embossed cardstock white layer to slightly larger Lavender Lace piece then
