Beautiful Day Butterfly |
|
T
his card features the Beautiful Day stamp set from the Occasions Catalog. We will be using blending pends to color the butterfly.
For this card you will need ScorTape if you prefer to use it with the ribbon as well as your adhesive of choice.

Cut Card stock at the following dimensions:
Base: Black
Layer 1: 5 3/8" x 4 1/8"
Butterfly Whisper White: 4" x 3"
Banner Whisper White: 3 5/8" x 3/4"
Scrap Whisper White
Inside Whisper White: 5" x 3 3/4"
Use the black 5 3/8" x 4 1/8" card stock with the Polka Dot Basics embossing folder and your big shot.
Stamp the butterfly image on the 4" x 3" white piece with the Black Momento Ink. After it dries, use the blending pens to color in.
Note that when using blending pens, you will want to use the Black Momento Ink and thick card stock. Make sure you have a mat underneath since it will bleed through. Also, since these are alcohol ink pens, they will dry faster than the watercolor ink pens. Work on one small area at a time.
Stamp the two greetings and notch the larger one to make a banner.
Assemble the card as shown, using Diimmensionals on the butterfly.
When adding ribbon to the front, I prefer to use ScorTape and add it after I adhere the front of the card, cutting off the excess (as long as the ribbon doesn't fray). If you prefer, you can wrap it around before adhering.
Stamp the inside of the card as shown and adhere.
Note that I stamped off twice before stamping the butterfly in Bermuda Bay.
