A Touch Of Ink Framed Hummingbird Thoughts |
P retty sympathy or thinking of you card using Stampin' Up! products.
Cut cardstock and designer paper pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- card from Blackberry Bliss Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Granny Apple Green Cardstock
- 3-1/2" x 5" of plain Bermuda Bay ombre design from Oh So Ombre Designer Series Paper, cut so the ombre runs horizontally across the horizontal rectangle and you have some of the lighter color fading into the medium color
- 3" square from Whisper White or Basic White Cardstock
- 1-3/4" square from Whisper White or Basic White Cardstock
Insert the Granny Apple Green cardstock rectangle into the Ornate Floral 3D Embossing Folder. Use the line drawn on the front flap of the folder to help line the cardstock up straight. Place the folder with the cardstock inside on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine and run through the machine.
Adhere the dry embossed Granny Apple Green rectangle to the front of the Blackberry Bliss card.
Pick out the filigree edged rectangle die from the Ornate Layers Dies that cuts out a rectangle that is 3-1/4" x 4-3/4". Put it on top of the Oh So Ombre Designer Paper rectangle on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine. Run through the tool. Use the Take Your Pick Die Brush Tool to remove the pieces.
Adhere the filigree rectangle of ombre designer paper to the front of the card so it is centered and the lighter area is on the bottom of the rectangle.
As you are ready to stamp using the A Touch Of Ink Set, place the cardstock on the Stampin' Pierce Mat. Using the mat will help you get a cleaner image each time you stamp.
Mount the outline hummingbird image from the A Touch Of Ink Set on Block D. Ink it up with the Blackberry Bliss Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the larger white square.
Mount the solid hummingbird interior image from the A Touch Of ink Set on Block D. Ink up the top half of the stamp by pressing it on the side of the open Granny Apple Green Ink Pad. Ink up the bottom half of the stamp by pressing it on the side of the open Bermuda Bay Ink Pad. Breathe on the stamp to moisten the ink. Stamp it inside the previously stamped outline hummingbird image.
If desired, use the Granny Apple Green and Bermuda Bay Markers to add more color to the hummingbird image making the color more intense in some areas and to fill in any white areas.
Carefully cut out the stamped hummingbird image by hand using Paper Snips. Make sure you leave at least some of his beak.
Mount the "thinking of you" or "hello friend" sentiment from the A Touch Of Ink Set on Block A. Ink it up with the Blackberry Bliss Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the smaller white square.
Pick out the small notched corner rectangle label die from the Ornate Frames Dies. Put it on top of the stamped sentiment on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so the sentiment is centered in the die. Run through the tool.
WITHOUT ADHERING, lay the sentiment label cut out and the hummingbird cut out on the card front so they are centered inside the ombre, filigree rectangle cut out with the bird's beak overlapping the top right side of the sentiment label cut out a bit and the bird's wings overlapping the filigree on the upper right side of the rectangle a bit.
When happy with the layout, adhere the sentiment label cut out using Stampin' Seal and the hummingbird cut out using Stampin' Dimensionals and Mini Stampin' Dimensionals.
Cut an 8" piece of the Blackberry Bliss Striped Ribbon.
Tie a small bow in the center of the ribbon. Trim the ends.
Use a Mini Glue Dot to adhere the bow to the front of the card at a slight angle in the lower right corner of the sentiment label cut out.
Use the mini spatula on the Take Your Pick to carefully peel up 1 large and 2 small clear gems from a sheet of Elegant Faceted Gems making sure that you get the adhesive backings as well. Adhere them to the front of the card in a rough triangle in the upper left corner of the ombre filigree rectangle cut out.
