Project Recipe
Measurements:
Thick Basic White -
11 x 4 1/4" - score at 5 1/2"
Basic White -
1 pc - 2 1/2" x 4 1/4" for front panel
1 pc - 4 1/4" x 3 3/4" to stamp and
die cut rabbit, fox, and umbrella
1 pc - 3" x 3" for pop-up piece - score
at 1/4", 1 1/2" and 2 1/2"
Pool Party - 4" x 5 1/4"
Take the Pool Party panel and run it through the Cut & Emboss machine using the Raindrops Embossing folder. Adhere this to the card front.
Take the 2 1/2" x 4 1/4" white panel and stamp the clouds near the top of the panel, using Mememto Ink. Then stamp the rabbit near the bottom. Color the clouds and ONLY the puddle on the rabbit image. We will be layering another rabbit over the top of the image (the puddle gets cut off when you die cut the rabbit)
Take the 3 3/4" x 4 1/4" white piece and stamp the rabbit, fox, and umbrella. Color all images and then die-cut them.
Open the card base, and on the top inside panel, stamp the rain drops using Pool Party Ink. Cover the entire panel.
On the bottom inside panel, stamp the sentiment, the umbrella, and the small puddle. Color the puddle with Lt. Pool Party Blends and the umbrella with Lt. Basic Black Blends. Use a light touch when doing this as some ink will bleed through the back. You can probably just use Stampin' Write Markers for this step as they won't bleed through.
Take the 3" x 3" piece of Basic White cardstock. Burnish all score lines. Fold the piece at the 1 1/2" score line.
On this fold, make a small mark at 1" and 2".
Take your paper snips and turn the square so that the fold is at the bottom. At both marks, keeping the cardstock folded, cut up to the next score line. DO NOT CUT THROUGH THIS SCORE LINE!
Open the square all the way, then fold the 1/4" pieces on either side away from you.
From the back of the square, push the center piece towards you and fold the other 2 sides away from you.
The finished piece should look like this picture.
Apply Tear Tape to the sections with the pencil marks, but DON'T remove the tape covering yet.
If you decide to use liquid glue for this step, only apply the glue to one section at a time!
I wouldn't recommend using regular double-sided adhesive for this step, because I don't think it's not strong enough to hold that piece for a long period of time.
Fold the pop-up piece so that it looks like the picture.
Open the card base and place the top piece with the yellow arrows just below the center score line of the inside of the card. You don't want to cross over that score line or your card won't close properly.
Remove the cover strip on the tear tape, and keeping the pop-up piece steady, close the card front and press along the top fold.
Flip the card over to the back, open it up, and repeat the step above.
Flip the card back to the front and open it. Your pop-up mechanism should be working. You may need to manually work the folds so that they are bending in the right direction.
Place a small amount of tape on the bottom center of the pop-up mechanism. Adhere the fox, making sure that his feet are not touching the base of the card. If you have him down too far, the card won't close properly and his feet with get bent.
This is what it should look like when it's finished.
Take the colored die-cut rabbit and using dimensionals, layer him over the stamped image on the card front.
Place a mini dimensional to the back of the small umbrella and place it so that the handle of the umbrella rest on the left hand of the rabbit.
Adhere the Iridescent pearls to the card front.
