Project Recipe
Cut cardstock, designer paper, and foil sheets pieces to the following sizes using a cutting and scoring tool:
- card from Pretty Peacock Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Whisper White Cardstock
- 2" x 5-1/4" of shiny blue snowflakes on Pretty Peacock background design from Noble Peacock Specialty Designer Series Paper
- 2-5/8" x 3-3/8" from Pretty Peacock Cardstock
- 2-1/2" x 3-1/4" from Whisper White Cardstock
- 1" x 1-1/2" from Whisper White Cardstock
- scrap of Granny Apple Green Cardstock at least 2-1/4" long
- 1-3/4" square of Pretty Peacock Foil Sheet from Noble Peacock Foil Sheets
Insert the large Whisper White rectangle into the Subtle 3D Embossing Folder so the lines are horizontal. Use the line drawn on the front flap of the folder to help you line the cardstock up straight. Run the folder with the cardstock inside through your die cutting and embossing tool.
Adhere the strip of Noble Peacock Specialty Designer Series Paper to the left side of the dry embossed white rectangle so about 1/8" of white shows on the left side.
Adhere the white rectangle with designer paper attached to the front of the Pretty Peacock card.
Mount the penguin looking to the right image from the Playful Penguins Set on Block D. Ink it up with the Basic Gray Ink Pad. Stamp it on the left side of the medium white rectangle so the left wing is going off the edge and the top of the head is about 3/8" from the top.
Mount the shadow/rock/dirt line image from the Playful Penguins Set on Block G. Ink it up with the Basic Gray Ink Pad. Stamp onto Grid Paper. WITHOUT RE-INKING stamp it under the penguin on the right side as shown.
Shake the bottle of Snowfall Accents Puff Paint really well. Apply thin lines of puff paint under the penguin and shadow images on the left side of the white rectangle.
Use the Heat Tool to heat the puff paint lines until they are completely dry and puffy.
Tip: Start heating on the underside of the cardstock first so the air doesn't blow the puff paint around. Once it starts to dry, switch to heating from above.
Adhere the penguin and puff paint image to the rectangle of Pretty Peacock and then to the center of the front of the card so it overlaps the designer paper a bit and is about 3/4" from the top.
Mount the scarf image from the Playful Penguins Set on Block B. Ink it up with the Granny Apple Green Ink Pad. Stamp it on the remaining small white rectangle.
Cut out the scarf by hand using Paper Snips. Adhere the scarf to the penguin's neck.
Mount the "You're So Cool" sentiment from the Playful Penguins Set on Block G. Ink it up with the Pretty Peacock Ink Pad. Stamp it on the scrap of Granny Apple Green Cardstock.
Use Paper Snips to cut out the words and cut them apart between "You're" and "So Cool" at a sharp angle.
Use Mini Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the word cut outs to the card front at angles in the upper right corner of the matted penguin image. Let them hang over the edges some.
Pick out the detailed, medium snowflake die from the Seasonal Layers Dies. Put the die on top of the Foil Sheet square on a platform on your cutting and embossing tool. Make sure the foil side of the foil sheet is face up. Run through the tool. Use the Take Your Pick Die Brush Tip and/or paper-piercing tool on the Take Your Pick to remove the pieces.
Use a Mini Stampin' Dimensional in the center of the back of the snowflake cut out to adhere it to the card front on the lower right corner of the matted penguin image.
Use the mini spatula on the Take Your Pick tool to pick up a medium Granny Apple Green dot from a sheet of Glitter Enamel Dots being sure to get the adhesive as well. Adhere it to the center of the snowflake cut out.
