S oft and pretty birthday card using Stampin' Up! products.
Project Recipe
Cut cardstock pieces to the following sizes using a Stampin' Trimmer:
- card from Petal Pink Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 2-3/8" x 4-1/8" from Calypso Coral Cardstock
- 2-1/4" x 4" from Very Vanilla Cardstock
- 2-3/4" x 4" from Very Vanilla Cardstock
- 1/2" x 2-1/4" from Calypso Coral Cardstock
Make sure you have a piece of Grid Paper on your work surface to protect it from ink. Place the closed Petal Pink card on the Grid Paper.
Mount the small, single, solid flower image from the Petal Palette Set on Block A. Ink it with the Petal Pink Ink Pad. Stamp it randomly down the left half of the card front. Remember to re-ink the stamp each time. Rotate the orientation of the stamp every so often. Let some of the images go off the top, bottom, and left sides of the card.
Place the Stamparatus in front of you with the open sides of the Stamparatus on the left and bottom. Insert one of the plates into the hinges on the right side of the Stamparatus. Put a piece of Small Grid Paper on the base of the Stamparatus.
Place the smaller (2-1/4" x 4") vanilla rectangle on the base of the Stamparatus so it is in the upper right corner. Position the "life is so much better..." sentiment from the Petal Palette Set in the bottom center of the vanilla rectangle so the stamp is image side down. Close the plate onto the stamp and press firmly to make sure it is stuck to the plate.
Remove the vanilla cardstock rectangle from the Stamparatus for now.
As you prepare to ink up the stamp on the Stamparatus plate each time, place the stamp case under the Stamparatus plate to give it some firmness as you ink up the stamp.
If you have a Stampin' Spot in the color you want to stamp with, then use it to ink up the stamp each time. This will help avoid getting ink on the plate where you don't want it.
If you do get ink on the plate, then wipe it off with a baby wipe, tissue, or paper towel before closing the plate to stamp to avoid getting excess ink on your project piece where you don't want it.
Ink up the stamp on the plate using the Petal Pink Ink Pad. Close the plate onto the Small Grid Paper and press down firmly. Open the plate. Check to make sure the sentiment stamped right side up and straight. If not, adjust the stamp on the plate and try again. When happy with the positioning of the stamp, proceed to the next step.
When you are happy with the placement of the sentiment stamp on the Stamparatus plate, put the piece of vanilla cardstock back on the Stamparatus like before. Re-ink the sentiment stamp with Petal Pink Ink Pad. Close the plate onto the cardstock and press down firmly. Open the plate. Leave the cardstock in place on the Stamparatus.
Use the brush tip of the Calypso Coral Marker to ink up ONLY the words "is so much" and "with you in it." on the stamp. Close the plate onto the cardstock and press firmly.
Remove the cardstock from the Stamparatus and place on some Grid Paper on your work surface to protect your work area from ink.
Miount the long bar of little dots image from the Petal Palette Set on Block H. Ink it up wit the Calypso Coral Ink Pad. Stamp it 4 times down the top of the stamped white vanilla rectangle. Remember to re-ink the stamp each time. The image will go off the edges of the cardstock. The final image should be about 1/2" over the top of the sentiment.
Adhere the thin strip of Calypso Coral Cardstock across the stamped vanilla rectangle so it is just above the stamped sentiment.
Adhere the stamped vanilla rectangle with Calypso Coral strip attached to the Calypso Coral rectangle.
Cut a 3" piece of Very Vanilla 1/2" Lace Trim.
Lay the lace trim across the Calypso Coral strip on the vanilla rectangle so the heart shapes woven into the lace trim are right side up. Flip the layers over and fold the ends of the lace trim over. Adhere the ends of the lace trim in place with pieces of Tear & Tape Adhesive.
Remove the protective backing from the Tear & Tape strips and add more SNAIL to the back of the cardstock. Adhere it to the front of the stamped Petal Pink card on the right side.
Place the Stamparatus back in front of you with the open sides of the Stamparatus on the left and bottom. Insert one of the plates into the hinges on the right side of the Stamparatus.
Place the larger (2-3/4" x 4") vanilla rectangle on the base of the Stamparatus so it is in the upper right corner. Position the large bunch of roses and leaves image from the Petal Palette Set on the vanilla rectangle so the stamp is image side down. Close the plate onto the stamp and press firmly to make sure it is stuck to the plate. Leave the cardstock on the Stamparatus.
Use the brush tip of the Calypso Coral Marker to ink up ONLY the roses on the stamp. Close the plate onto the cardstock and press firmly. Leave the cardstock in place on the Stamparatus.
Use the brush tip of the Old Olive Marker to ink up ONLY the leaves on the stamp. Close the plate onto the cardstock and press firmly. Remove the cardstock.
Pick out the large, open roses and leaves bunch framelit from the Petals & More Thinlits. Place the stamped roses and leaves image on a Cutting Pad on top of the Magnetic Platform on your Big Shot. Place the roses and leaves bunch framelit on top so it is centered over the image. Place another Cutting Pad on top and run through the Big Shot.
Use the Petal Pink Marker to color in the roses. Use the Pear Pizzazz Marker to color in the leaves.
Use Stampin' Dimensionals, to adhere the colored roses and leaves bunch cut out to the front of the card so it covers the upper left corner of the matted vanilla strip.
Carefully peel up 3 Petal Pink pearls from a sheet of Share What You Love Artisan Pearls making sure that you get the adhesive backings as well. Adhere them to the centers of the roses.
Cut a 3" piece of Very Vanilla 1/2" Lace Trim.
Tie a half knot in the center of the lace trim. Trim the ends into angles. Use a Mini Glue Dot to adhere the lace trim knot to the front of the card on the left side of the matted vanilla rectangle.
