Project Recipe
Cut cardstock and designer paper pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- card from Highland Heather Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Pumpkin Pie Cardstock
- 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" from Basic White Cardstock
- 2" x 6" of thin gray stripes on white background design from Cute Halloween 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper, cut so the stripes are horizontal on the horizontal strip
- 1/2" x 2-1/2" from Highland Heather Cardstock
Put the striped designer paper rectangle on some Grid Paper to protect your work surface. You need to make sure that you protect your work surface with paper as the Stampin' Blends Markers do bleed through.
Use the Light Highland Heather Stampin' Blends to color the designer paper.
As you are ready to stamp using the Penguin Place Set, place the cardstock or designer paper on the Stampin' Pierce Mat. Using the mat will help you get a cleaner image each time you stamp. Put a piece of Grid Paper on top to protect the Mat from ink.
Mount the snowbank swoosh image from the Penguin Place Set on Block I. Ink it up with the Highland Heather Ink Pad. Stamp the swoosh across the top of the horizontal, colored designer paper rectangle so the thick part of the swoosh almost touches the top edge and the ends go off the sides.
Use Paper Snips Scissors to cut along the top of the swoosh.
Mount the sliding penguin image from the Penguin Place Set on Block B. Ink it up with the Tuxedo Black Memento Ink Pad. Stamp the penguin on the left edge of the large, horizontal white rectangle so his belly is about 1-1/4" from the bottom edge and his tail is about 1-1/4" from the left edge.
Mount the tiny, horizontal beak image from the Penguin Place Set on Block A. Ink it up with the Pumpkin Pie Ink Pad. Stamp the beak so the flat side just touches the penguin's face.
Mount the hat image from the Penguin Place Set on Block A. Ink it up with the Highland Heather Ink Pad. Stamp the hat so the base of the hat just touches the top of the penguin's head.
Mount the group of small snowflakes image from the Penguin Place Set on Block A. Ink it up with the Highland Heather Ink Pad. Stamp it repeatedly across the top of the white rectangle. Remember to re-ink the stamp each time. Let some of the images go off the top, left, and right edges.
Adhere the cut, stamped, and colored designer paper rectangle to the bottom of the stamped rectangle so the big bump is just below the bottom of the penguin's belly. Use Paper Snips Scissors to cut off excess designer paper on the left, bottom, and right edges as needed.
Unlock the Banners Pick A Punch. Slide one short edge of the Highland Heather strip into the right side of the punch (the side of the punch with the inward notched top) as far as it will go and get it centered. Punch.
Mount the "lots of thanks" sentiment from the Penguin Place Set on Block G. Ink it up with the Tuxedo Black Memento Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the punched Highland Heather strip so it is closer to the left side with the punched end on the left side.
Adhere the stamped sentiment strip to the right side of the white rectangle so the flat edge hangs out over the right edge a bit. Use Paper Snips to trim off excess Highland Heather Cardstock on the right side. Make sure to leave room for the sequin star to the right side of the sentiment.
Adhere the white rectangle with sentiment banner and designer paper attached to the center of the Pumpkin Pie rectangle and then to the front of the Highland Heather card.
Use the mini spatula on the Take Your Pick to carefully peel up one large black star from the sheet of Cute Stars Adhesive-Backed Sequins making sure that you get the adhesive backing as well. Adhere it to the right edge of the sentiment banner punch out.
