E asy fun fold religious Christmas card using Stampin' Up! products.
Project Recipe
Cut cardstock pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- card from Night Of Navy Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 2", 3-1/8", 5-3/8", and 6-1/2"
- 2 pieces each 2" x 5-1/4" from Crumb Cake Cardstock
- 2 pieces each 1-3/4" x 5-1/4" from Crumb Cake Cardstock
- 2 pieces each 1-3/4" square from Crumb Cake Cardstock
Fold the Night Of Navy card so the two outer score lines are valley folds and the two inner score lines are mountain folds. Use a Bone Folder to get sharp creases.
Mount one of the palm tree top images from the Paradise Palms Set on Block C. Ink it up with the Pear Pizzazz Ink Pad. Stamp it on one of the 1-3/4" x 5-1/4" Crumb Cake vertical strips near the top. Rotate the image slightly and stamp again without re-inking. Repeat on the other 1-3/4" x 5-1/4" Crumb Cake vertical strip, putting the palm tree top in a slightly different area at a slightly different angle.
Mount one of the palm tree trunk images from the Paradise Palms Set on Block H. Ink it up with the Crumb Cake Ink Pad and stamp it on one of the stamped Crumb Cake strips so the top of the trunk is in the base of the palm tree top. Repeat with the other stamped Crumb Cake strip.
Use your fingers to tear one side of one of the 1-3/4" squares of Crumb Cake Cardstock. Adhere it to the bottom of one of the stamped Crumb Cake strips so the torn edge is on the top and covers the bottom of the palm tree trunk. All other sides should be equal. Repeat with the other square of Crumb Cake and stamped Crumb Cake strip.
Adhere one of the stamped and layered Crumb Cake strips to the left panel of the front of the card and the other to the right panel of the front of the card.
Carefully remove a magnet from the back of the Stamparatus.
Tip: To make it easier to grab the magnets and to help keep them from breaking if they snap together, wrap them in strips of washi tape or masking tape leaving folded over pieces to grab on to.
Place the Stamparatus in front of you with the open sides of the Stamparatus on the left and bottom. Insert one hinged plate into the Stamparatus on the right side so it is in the topmost hinge space. Put the Stamparatus Foam Mat on the base of the Stamparatus.
Place one of the 2" x 5-1/4" Crumb Cake pieces on the base of the Stamparatus so it is vertical and is tight to the top of the Stamparatus base and somewhere near the center. Put the magnet horizontally across the bottom of the cardstock rectangle to hold it in place.
Pick out the nativity scene image from the Peace To You Set. Place the stamp rubber side down on the cardstock on the Stamparatus base so it is centered over the card stock side to side and is as close to the top of the cardstock as possible. Close the plate on the Stamparatus and press firmly so the stamp sticks to the plate. Open the plate.
Ink up the stamp on the plate using the Night Of Navy Ink Pad. If you get excess ink on the plate, you can wipe it off with a baby wipe or tissue. Close the plate onto the cardstock on the Stamparatus base and press down firmly. Open the plate.
Tip: If the image isn't dark enough to suit you, re-ink it and repeat.
Tip: Slide a Clear-Mount Stamp Case under the plate before inking up the stamp. This gives you a firm, flat surface to push against making it easier to ink up the stamp.
Remove the stamped cardstock from the base of the Stamparatus.
Mount the "the light of the world" sentiment from the Peace To You Set on Block B. Ink it up with the Night Of Navy Ink Pad. Stamp it on the bottom of the nativity stamped Crumb Cake strip so it is centered side to side and about 1/4" from the bottom edge.
Cut a 23" piece of the Crumb Cake twine from the Baker's Twine Essentials Pack.
Fold the twine into thirds. Lay the folded twine across the nativity/sentiment stamped rectangle so it is centered between the bottom of the nativity scene and the top of the sentiment. Fold the ends of the folded twine over and secure the folded twine in place on the back with strips of Tear & Tape Adhesive.
Remove the protective backings from the Tear & Tape pieces and add Stampin' Seal to the back of the Crumb Cake rectangle. Adhere the rectangle to the center panel of the front of the card.
Cut a 10" piece of the Crumb Cake twine from the Baker's Twine Essentials Pack.
Slide one end of the twine under the twine already on the card front on the right side. Tie in place with a small bow. Trim the ends.
Use the mini spatula on the Take Your Pick to carefully peel up 1 small or medium jewel from a sheet of Champagne Rhinestone Basic Jewels making sure that you get the adhesive backing as well. Adhere it to the center of the star on the nativity scene on the front of the card.
Mount the "peace to you at Christmas" sentiment from the Peace To You Set on Block C. Ink it up with the Night Of Navy Ink Pad. Stamp it near the top of the remaining 2" x 5-1/4" vertical Crumb Cake rectangle.
Adhere the sentiment stamped Crumb Cake strip to the center panel on the back of the card.
