H andmade Christmas card using Stampin' Up! products.
Project Recipe
Cut cardstock and Masking Paper pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- card from Smoky Slate Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Basic White Cardstock
- 2-3/4" x 3-1/4" from Basic White Cardstock
- 2-3/4" x 3-1/4" from Masking Paper
- 1-3/4" x 2-1/2" from Smoky Slate Cardstock
- 1" x 3" from Smoky Slate Cardstock
Insert the 4" x 5-1/4" white rectangle into the Timber 3D Embossing Folder. Use the line printed on the front flap of the folder to make sure it is lined up straight. Place the folder with the cardstock inside on the platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine and run through the machine.
Adhere the dry embossed white rectangle to the front of the Smoky Slate card.
Pick out the label with branches die from the Scary Silhouettes Dies. Put it on top of the Masking Paper rectangle on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so it is in the center. Run through the machine. Use the paper-piercing tool on the Take Your Pick to remove the pieces as needed.
Peel off the protective backing from the Masking Paper label with branches cut out. Adhere the Masking Paper label with branches cut out over the top of the remaining white rectangle. The sides should all be even.
Rub a Blending Brush across the open Starry Sky Ink Pad to get it inky. Rub the inky Blending Brush over the entire masked white rectangle. Get more ink on the Blending Brush as needed.
Tip: I just clean my Blending Brushes when I'm done using them by running them under water until no more color is coming off. Then, I let them air dry. They may be stained, but they are clean enough to use with any color of ink in the future.
Carefully remove the Masking Paper from the rectangle.
Tip: If you have trouble removing the Masking Paper, try heating it gently with the Heat Tool to soften the adhesive. You can also use the paper-piercing tool on the Take Your Pick to help peel up the Masking Paper.
Pick out the open label die from the Scary Silhouettes Dies. Put it on top of the blended branches label rectangle on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so it is centered over the image. Run through the machine.
Use the side of the brush tip of the Starry Sky Stampin' Write Marker to carefully outline the edges of the label cut out.
Adhere the label cut out to the front of the card so it is centered side to side and is about 7/8" from the top edge.
Mount the church and trees in snowfall image from the Peace To You Set on Block E. Lay the stamp on the block stamp side up on your work surface. Ink it up with the Starry Sky Ink Pad by pressing the open ink pad onto the stamp so you get the church completely inked up. Stamp the image on the larger Smoky Slate rectangle so you get the church.
Use Paper Snips Scissors to cut out the church by hand. Cut off the cross at the top of the church steeple.
Cut off the bottom of the church cut out so it is straight across.
Use Multipurpose Liquid Glue or Fine-Tip Glue Pen to adhere the church cut out to the front of the card so it is centered over the bottom of the blended branches label as shown.
Mount the "silent night, holy night" sentiment from the Peace To You Set on Block G. Ink it up with the Starry Sky Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the remaining, thin Smoky Slate strip.
Use Paper Snips Scissors to cut out the sentiment by hand.
Use Multipurpose Liquid Glue or Fine-Tip Glue Pen to adhere the sentiment cut out to the front of the card as shown so it overlaps the bottom of the church.
