Project Recipe
Cut cardstock, Window Sheets, and acetate pieces to the following sizes using a Stampin' Trimmer for each box:
- 2 pieces from Real Red Cardstock each 4-1/2" x 6-3/4"
- 2" x 2-1/2" from Whisper White Cardstock for panda holding envelope box
- 2-1/2" x 3" of scalloped design from Fabulous Foil Designer Acetate for panda holding envelope box
- 1-1/2" square from Whisper White Cardstock for panda holding envelope box
- 2" x 2-1/2" from Whisper White Cardstock for panda with heart balloon box
- 2" square from Window Sheets for panda with heart balloon box
- 2-1/4" x 2-3/4" from Whisper White Cardstock for panda juggling hearts box
- 2-7/8" square from Window Sheets for panda juggling hearts box
Pick out the framelit from the Lots to Love Box Framelits that cuts out half of the box. Place one piece of Real Red Cardstock on the Cutting Pad on top of the Platform on the Big Shot. Place the half box framelit on top. Place a Cutting Pad on top and run through the Big Shot. Repeat with the other piece of Real Red Cardstock.
Pick out one of the framelits from the Lots to Love Box Framelits that is a straight line with a half circle in the middle. Place one of the box halves on the Cutting Pad on top of the Platform on the Big Shot. Place the straight line with half circle framelit on top so the half circle on the framelit is centered side to side on the short flat edge of the box piece and the straight edge of the framelit is even with the flat edge of the box piece. Place a Cutting Pad on top and run through the Big Shot. This will cut out a little notch so that it is easier to open the flap when your box is assembled and closed
To make the panda holding an envelope box:
Pick out the large heart framelit from the Lots to Love Box Framelits. Place the box half without the notch cut in the back on the Cutting Pad on top of the Magnetic Platform on the Big Shot. Place the heart framelit on top so it is about 1" from the top and about 1/2" from the right side. Place a Cutting Pad on top and run through the Big Shot.
For the panda holding a heart balloon box:
Pick out the small curvy-sided heart framelit from the Lots to Love Box Framelits. Place the box half without the notch cut in the back on the Cutting Pad on top of the Magnetic Platform on the Big Shot. Place the curvy-edged heart framelit on top at a slight angle so it is about 3/4" from the top and about 1" from the left side. Place a Cutting Pad on top and run through the Big Shot.
For the panda juggling hearts box:
Pick out the small, fat heart framelit from the Lots to Love Box Framelits. Place the box half without the notch cut in the back on the Cutting Pad on top of the Magnetic Platform on the Big Shot. Place the small, fat heart framelit on top at a slight angle so it is in the center about 1" from the top. Place a Cutting Pad on top and run through the Big Shot. Put the box piece back on the Cutting Pad and move the small, fat heart framelit down and to the left a bit. Put the other Cutting Pad on top and run through the Big Shot. Repeat on the right side as well so that you have three hearts cut out of the front of the box.
Place the front of the box piece on a piece of Grid Paper before stamping to protect your work surface.
For the panda holding a heart balloon box:
Mount the "Love You" sentiment from the Party Pandas Set on Block A. Ink it up with the Cherry Cobbler Ink Pad. Stamp it repeatedly across the bottom of the box front piece (the piece with the heart cut out). Angle the sentiment slightly each time you stamp and don't forget to re-ink the stamp each time.
For the panda juggling hearts box:
Mount the "Love You" sentiment from the Party Pandas Set on Block A. Ink it up with the Cherry Cobbler Ink Pad. Stamp it repeatedly across the bottom of the box front piece (the piece with the hearts cut out). Angle the sentiment slightly each time you stamp and don't forget to re-ink the stamp each time.
Mount the confetti image from the Party Pandas Set on Block A. Ink it up with the Cherry Cobbler Ink Pad. Stamp it repeatedly below the outside hearts and between each of the hearts. Remember to re-ink the stamp each time.
Place the box piece with the heart(s) cut out of it upside down on your work surface. Place short pieces of Tear & Tape Adhesive as close to the edges of the heart cut out(s) as you can.
For the panda holding an envelope box:
Remove the protective film from the Fabulous Foil Designer Acetate rectangle. Remove the protective backings from the Tear & Tape pieces and adhere the rectangle of Fabulous Foil Designer Acetate over the heart cut out. Make sure that the SILVER side is facing down so that you'll see the SILVER scallops when you look at the front of the box.
For the panda holding a heart balloon box:
Remove the protective backings from the Tear & Tape pieces and adhere the small square of Window Sheet over the heart cut out.
For the panda juggling hearts box:
Remove the protective backings from the Tear & Tape pieces and adhere the large square of Window Sheet over the heart cut outs.
Use the Bone Folder to fold along all score lines on both box pieces.
Put Tear & Tape Adhesive along the inside of both long flaps on the box piece with the heart(s) cut out of it.
With the rounded flap at the top and the heart oriented correctly, remove the protective backing from the one flap and adhere it to the long flap of the other box piece. Make sure the second box piece is oriented so the flat edge with the notch cut out of it is at the top and the rounded flap is at the bottom.
Remove the protective backing from the other long flap on the front of the box and adhere it to the other flap on the back of the box.
If you don't want to have the bottom of the box come open, then place a short strip of Tear & Tape Adhesive across the top of the bottom rounded flap where it will connect with the inside of the box. Remove the protective backing and tuck the flap in the bottom of the box. Push the Bone Folder into the box and rub on the flap from the inside to help seal the adhesive to the box.
Fill the box with treats and close the top flap.
Tip: If you don't want to give candy, you could include a gift card, jewelry, or small flat toys.
Mount the panda image of choice on the correct size block. Ink it up with the Basic Black Archival Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the correct sized piece of white cardstock. For the panda holding the balloon, you only need to ink up the panda and stamp it. Don't worry about getting the entire string and the balloon stamped. Set it aside to let it dry for a minute.
Cut out the panda image by hand using Paper Snips.
If you want, use the edge of the brush tip of the Basic Black Marker to outline the cut out panda. This helps cover any white edges. You can also use the fine tip of the Basic Black Marker to color in any black spaces on the panda image.
For the panda holding an envelope box:
Use the fine tip of the Real Red Marker to color in the heart on the envelope.
For the panda holding a heart balloon box:
Use the fine tip of the Basic Black Marker to color in the white string space on the panda's upraised arm.
Use the fine tip of the Basic Black Marker to draw in a string from the bottom of the heart cut out to the area where the panda's arm will be and past it in curls.
For the panda juggling hearts box:
Use the Basic Black and Real Red Markers to color in the panda's party hat.
Adhere the cut out panda in place on the front of the box as shown depending on the box you are making.
For the panda holding an envelope box:
Mount the "love you" sentiment from the Party Pandas Set on Block A. Ink it up with the Cherry Cobbler Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the small white square.
Pick out the straight-edged small, skinny heart framelit from the Lots to Love Box Framelits. Place the stamped sentiment square on a Cutting Pad on top of the Magnetic Platform on the Big Shot. Place the small, skinny heart framelit on top so it is centered over the sentiment. Place another Cutting Pad on top and run through the Big Shot.
Adhere the small heart sentiment to the front of the box on the upper right side of the heart cut out.
For the panda holding an envelope box:
