A card featuring all three Pandas from the Party Pandas on a background created using Brusho Watercolour Crystals
Project Recipe
Take a piece of Thick Whisper White Cardstock measuring 6"x4" and score on the longside at 4". Fold the card along the score lie and burnish with your bone folder for a nice, crisp fold.
Cut a piece of Watercolour Paper to measure 6"x4". Use some Sticky Notes and stick them across the paper to mask off a horizon line about 1" up from the bottom of the paper and covering the ground. Using a Stampin' Spritzer, soak the paper with water, then sprinkle Prussian Blue Brusho onto the paper. Tilt the paper to help the colour run - you can also use an Aqua Painter to push the ink to where you want it.
When you are happy with your 'sky', use a paper towel to blot off some of the water. Use your heat tool to dry the blue section completely.
Swap the Sticky Notes around so that the sky is covered and the earth is exposed. Repeat the "Spritz & Sprinkle" process using Moss Green Crystals to form the grass. Dry again.
Using the Cloud design from the Pattern Party Decorative Masks and the Shimmery White Embossing Paste, create clouds on the sky section of the watercolour paper. If you need help with how to do this, take a look at my "Quick Guide to Embossing Paste" at http://studioat316.blogspot.co.uk/2018/03/a-quick-guide-to-embossing-paste.html
Allow the clouds to dry completely before moving on to the next step. This is best done by leaving it to dry overnight, but if you are in a hurry (as most of us usually are) you can use your heat tool to dry the paste out - just be careful not to burn your clouds or the paper.
Once completely dry, flatten out your watercolour panel as much as possible, then attach it to the front of your card base using Fast Fuse or Liquid Adhesive - it needs to be a strong adhesive to help flatten the paper.
On a scrap of Whisper White Cardstock, stamp out one of each of the three Pandas using Tuxedo Black Momento Ink. Allow these to dry before colouring the Party Hat and the little heart on the envelope with Stampin' Blends. Fussy cut around each Panda, removing the balloon from the third Panda at his paw.
On scraps of three different coloured cardstock sheets (I used Powder Pink, Bermuda Bay and Real Red), stamp out three balloons (don't worry about the strings). Fussy cut around each balloon.
On a strip of Whisper White Cardstock measuring 4" x 1/2" stamp the Happy Birthday greeting in the centre using Tuxedo Black Momento Ink.
Using the Triple Banner Punch, remove each end of the strip to form 'tails' at each end of the banner. Ink the edges with Old Olive Ink using a quarter of a Stampin' Sponge.
Attach Stampin' Dimensionals to the back of each Panda (I use two full Dimensionals - one on the head and one on the body, and then halve two mini dimensionals and stick one half to each arm and one to each leg. Use another half on the party hat.
Attach the Pandas so the two standing ones have their feet halfway up the grassy section, and the sitting one towards the top of the grass so he is floating away. Attach the three balloons above this Panda with Liquid Glue. Using a Basic Black Stampin' Write Marker, draw a string from the Panda's paw to each balloon, not forgetting to add the three ends coming out from the other side of his paw.
Finally, add the banner below the floating Panda using two Mini Stampin' Dimensionals.
Sit back and admire your creation.
Happy Stampin'
