Project Recipe
Cut cardstock and designer paper pieces to the following sizes using a Stampin' Trimmer:
- card from Daffodil Delight Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Old Olive Cardstock
- 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" from Soft Sky Cardstock
- 2-1/4" square from Whisper White Cardstock
- 1" x 3-1/2" from Daffodil Delight Cardstock
- 3 pieces each 1-1/2" x 2" from Old Olive Cardstock
- 3/16" strip of different shades of Old Olive separated by white lines pattern from Color Theory Designer Series Paper Stack, cut into three pieces each about 1-3/4" to 2" long with angled ends
- 5/16" strip of different shades of Old Olive separated by white lines pattern from Color Theory Designer Series Paper Stack, cut into two pieces each about 2-1/2" to 3" long with angled ends
- 3 pineapples punched out of pineapples on blue background design from Tutti-frutti 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper using pineapple punch from Itty Bitty Fruit Punch Pack
Use the fine tip of the Basic Black Stampin' Write Marker to draw slightly squiggly lines along all four sides of the Soft Sky rectangle about 1/4" in from each edge. Then, draw another more squiggly line over each of those lines.
Mount the panda holding a balloon image from the Party Pandas Set on Block E. Ink it up with the Basic Black Archival Ink Pad. Stamp it on the left side of the Soft Sky rectangle so the top of the balloon is about 1/2" from the top and the left side of the panda is about 3/4" from the left side. Leave the stamp on the block.
Make sure you have paper (Grid Paper works great) on your work surface to protect it from ink. Re-ink the panda on the stamp using the Basic Black Archival Ink Pad. Stamp the panda on the small white square. Set aside to let dry thoroughly.
Mount the "Happy Birthday" sentiment on Block G. Ink it up with the Basic Black Archival Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the Daffodil Delight strip.
Unlock the Classic Label Punch. Hold the punch upside down so you can see the punching area. Slide the stamped sentiment into the punch and get it centered in the punching area. Punch.
Adhere the punched out sentiment to the Soft Sky rectangle so it is centered under the panda from side to side and about 1/2" up from the bottom.
Cut out the panda image stamped on the white square using Paper Snips.
If you want, use the edge of the brush tip of the Basic Black Marker to outline the cut out panda. This helps cover any white edges.
Adhere the cut out panda over the top of the previously stamped panda on the Soft Sky layer.
Pick out the long, skinny leaf stem framelit from the Everyday Jars Framelits. Place one of the small Old Olive rectangles on the Precision Plate on top of the Platform on the Big Shot. Place the leaf stem framelit on top so you will cut out the end with the leaves. Place a Cutting Pad on top and run through the Big Shot a couple of times. Use the Die Brush to remove the pieces. Repeat with the other two small Old Olive rectangles.
Trim one of the leaf stems in half using Paper Snips.
If you haven't already done so, cut the two different sized strips of Old Olive Color Theory Designer Series Paper into smaller pieces with angled ends. The thin strip should be cut into pieces between 1-3/4" and 2" long and the thick strip should be cut into pieces between 2-1/2" and 3" long. Discard any leftover pieces.
Use the Fine-Tip Glue Pen to adhere the strips of designer paper and leaf stems so they criss cross each other and create a nest over the bottom of the panda.
If you haven't already done so, punch out three pineapples from the Tutti-frutti Designer Series Paper piece using the pineapple punch from the Itty Bitty Fruit Punch Pack. Hold the unlocked punch upside down so you can see the punching area and line the pineapple image on the paper up inside the punching area before punching.
Use the Fine-Tip Glue Pen to adhere two of the pineapples to the top of the nest on the right side of the panda so they overlap a bit. Use a Mini Stampin' Dimensional to adhere the third pineapple so it overlaps the other two a bit.
Adhere the Soft Sky rectangle to the large Old Olive rectangle and then to the front of the Daffodil Delight card.
Pick out a Daffodil Delight balloon from the Balloon Honeycomb Embellishments. Peel the protective backing off one side of the balloon embellishment. Adhere the balloon embellishment to the card front so it overlaps one side of the stamped balloon image. Remove the protective backing from the other side and adhere it in place over the other side of the stamped balloon image.
Tip: If you are worried about the honeycomb embellishment getting smashed in the mail, then adhere only one side to your card front. Add a little note to the recipient letting them know to peel the protective backing off the other side and adhere it in place to complete their fun card.
