T his is a partial die cut project. It is easier than it looks.
Project Recipe
The card base is 4 1/4" x 11" and scored at 5 1/2". The Evening Evergreen is cut at 2 3/4 x 5 1/2. The Soft Succulent is cut at 5 1/2" and 2 1/2" +. There is only a small amount of difference - just so you can see about 1/4" or less on either size. To help you adjust and even edges up, I would suggest you use glue to attach the Soft Succulent to the Evening Evergreen piece.
Do not attach the two layers you just glued together to the card front! For placement purposes, lay them on the card front and adjust to allow for spacing for the stamped image. Draw and light pencil line where you want to stamp your image.
Set the layered piece of card stock to the side and stamp the image on the card base with Versa Mark. Add white embossing powder and heat emboss with the heat tool.
After you have heat embossed the image, place the layered pieces of card stock on the card front (do not glue) at the line. Adjust the die cut on the portion of the image you can see making sure, the die cut is lined up correctly. Using non permanent tape, tape the die cut on the layer pieces. DO NOT DIECUT THE CARDBASE.
Run the die cut and the two layered piece through the die cutting machine. AGAIN! DO NOT RUN THE CARDBASE THROUGH THE DIE CUTTING MACHINE. Take it from me, I mistakenly did this the first time and I was very disappointed.
Remove the die cut and the portion of card stock that was die cut. This is then placed in a embossing folder and run through to give the card stock a design. (It also removes any imperfections that may have been caused by running through die cut machine.
Add the designer series paper to begin the card assembly process.
Erase the pencil mark, add dimensionals to the back of the die cut piece. (When you add the dimensionals, it gives it more of a 3D look and gives the card front a more finished look.
Stamp the sentiment of your choice, attach and add any embellishments you may like. The card is finished.
