I t required quite a bit of thinking to come up with an idea for this week’s color challenge. I tried various techniques and several different stamp sets before returning to an old favorite, Timeless Tropical. Palms have been my favorite trees since I was a child--they lined the front of our property—so I decided to use the large palm tree stamp. To create the card, I added Sea & Sand patterned paper to Crumb Cake cardstock to give it body. I have found heat embossing on thin paper gives poor results, but by adding the cardstock layer I knew from experience the embossing would turn out well. I added VersaMark to the stamp and then Misty Moonlight ink. After stamping the three images, I used clear embossing power and my heat tool to make the trees pop. To finish the card, I stamped the sentiment in Merry Merlot ink, die cut it and added to the card front with dimensionals.

Misty Moonlight, Crumb Cake, and Merry Merlot complement each other well on this card.
This card was judged as a finalist.
