P retty birthday card using Stampin' Up! products.
Project Recipe
Cut cardstock and specialty paper pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- card from Highland Heather Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 1/2" x 5-1/2" of darker Gorgeous Grape paper from Ombre Specialty Paper
- 2" x 2-1/4" from Basic White Cardstock
- 2-1/2" x 3" from Basic White Cardstock
- 1-1/2" x 3-1/4" from Pear Pizzazz Cardstock
- 1-1/2" x 2-1/2" from Pear Pizzazz Cardstock
- 1-1/4" square of lighter Gorgeous Grape paper from Ombre Specialty Paper
Pick out the stitched, lacy zig zag die from the Basic Borders Dies. Put it on top of the bottom edge of the front of the Highland Heather card on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so you will cut off the bottom edge as close to the edge as possible. Make sure the die does NOT go over the side edges of the platform or it will catch on the machine and mess up the die, cardstock, and machine! Run through the machine.
Use Tear & Tape Adhesive to adhere the long, skinny strip of Gorgeous Grape Ombre Specialty Paper to the bottom of the inside of the card so it will show under the cut edge when the card is closed.
As you are ready to stamp using the Pansy Patch Set, place the cardstock or specialty paper on the Stampin' Pierce Mat. Using the mat will help you get a cleaner image each time you stamp.
Mount the large, more solid pansy flower outside edge image from the Pansy Patch Set on Block C. Ink it up with the Highland Heather Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the 2" x 2-1/4" white rectangle.
Mount the large, more detailed pansy flower outside edge image from the Pansy Patch Set on Block C. Ink it up with the Gorgeous Grape Ink Pad. Stamp the image over the top of the image already stamped in the center of the white rectangle.
Mount the larger, more solid pansy flower interior image from the Pansy Patch Set on Block A. Ink it up with the Highland Heather Ink Pad. Stamp the image in the center of the previously stamped pansy image on the white rectangle.
Mount the medium-sized, solid pansy flower interior image from the Pansy Patch Set on Block A. Ink it up with the Highland Heather Ink Pad. Stamp the image in the center of the previously stamped pansy image on the white rectangle.
Pick out the matching, open pansy flower die from the Pansy Dies. Put it on top of the stamped pansy on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so the pansy is centered in the die. Run through the machine.
Mount one of the more solid leaf images from the Pansy Patch Set on Block B. Ink it up with the Pear Pizzazz Ink Pad. Stamp it on one side of the 1-1/2" x 3-1/4" Pear Pizzazz rectangle.
Mount the other more solid leaf image from the Pansy Patch Set on Block B. Ink it up with the Pear Pizzazz Ink Pad. Stamp it on the other side of the 1-1/2" x 3-1/4" Pear Pizzazz rectangle, leave room to cut the images out with dies in a later step.
Mount one of the more detailed leaf veining images from the Pansy Patch Set on Block B. Ink it up with the Old Olive Ink Pad. Stamp it on top of the matching, previously stamped solid leaf image.
Mount the other more detailed leaf veining image from the Pansy Patch Set on Block B. Ink it up with the Old Olive Ink Pad. Stamp it on top of the matching, previously stamped solid leaf image.
Pick out the open leaf dies from the Pansy Dies. Put them on top of the stamped leaves on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so they are centered over the matching leaf images. Make sure the dies DO NOT overlap. Run through the machine.
Pick out the solid, skinny, bent over stem with bracket die from the Pansy Dies. Put it on top of the Pear Pizzazz rectangle on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine. Run through the machine. Use the paper-piercing tool or die brush on the Take Your Pick to remove the pieces if needed.
Mount the larger, more solid pansy bud image from the Pansy Patch Set on Block A. Ink it up with the Highland Heather Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the small square of lighter Gorgeous Grape Ombre Specialty Paper.
Mount the smaller, more detailed pansy bud image from the Pansy Patch Set on Block A. Ink it up with the Gorgeous Grape Ink Pad. Stamp it over the top of the previously stamped bud image in the center of the small square of lighter Gorgeous Grape Ombre Specialty Paper.
Pick out the matching, open, small pansy bud die from the Pansy Dies. Put it on top of the stamped pansy bud on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so the pansy bud is centered in the die. Run through the machine.
Mount the "Thank You" or "Happy Birthday" sentiment from the Pansy Patch Set on Block B. Ink it up with the Gorgeous Grape Ink Pad. Stamp it on one end of the vertical white strip in the center. Leave room to punch it out.
Unlock the Label Me Fancy Punch. Holding the punch upside down so you can see the punching area, slide the stamped sentiment into the punch and get it centered in the punching area. Punch.
Put the Silicone Craft Sheet on your work surface to make it easy to adhere pieces to the doily in the next steps without having it stick to your work surface.
Pick out a single doily from the Square Vellum Doilies. Put the doily on the Silicone Craft Sheet.
WITHOUT ADHERING, place the sentiment label punch out and pansy, stem, bud, and leaf cut outs on the doily to figure out spacing and placement. When happy with the spacing and placement, adhere the pieces to the doily one at a time. Use a Mini Glue Dot behind the bracket on the stem and bracket cut out to hold it in place. Use Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the large pansy flower cut out in place.
Remove the doily with pieces attached from the Silicone Craft Sheet. Turn everything upside down and add Stampin' Seal to the back of the doily where it will be hidden by the sentiment punch out and die cuts.
Adhere the doily with pieces attached to the front of the card on the right side.
Use the mini spatula on the Take Your Pick to carefully peel up one Gorgeous Grape pearl from the sheet of Pastel Pearls making sure that you get the adhesive backing as well. Adhere it to the center of the large pansy cut out over the white dot in the center.
