B right, fun birthday card using Stampin' Up! products and a fun fold.
Project Recipe
Cut cardstock and designer paper pieces to the following sizes using a Stampin' Trimmer:
- card from Bermuda Bay Cardstock at 4" x 8-1/2" and scored at 5-1/4"
- 3" x 3-3/4" from Whisper White Cardstock
- 2" x 3-3/4" of fine white dots on peach background design from Tutti-frutti 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper
- 3-1/4" square from Berry Burst Cardstock
- 3-1/4" square from Whisper White Cardstock
Adhere the piece of Tutti-frutti Designer Series Paper to the inside of the back of the card on the right edge.
Place the Watercolor Wash stamp rubber side up in the middle of the Grid Paper.
Pounce the open Peekaboo Peach Ink Pad all over the rubber of the Watercolor Wash stamp. Place the 3" x 3-3/4" piece of white cardstock on top of the inked up Watercolor Wash stamp. Fold the Grid Paper up and over the stamp and rub.
Tip: Using the background stamp this way makes it easier to make sure you have the cardstock or designer paper even and straight on the background stamp and that you get good coverage. Folding the Grid Paper up and over the stamp protects your fingers while you rub to transfer the ink.
Mount the large swoosh image from the Painter's Palette Set on Block H. Ink it up with the Berry Burst Ink Pad and stamp it randomly onto the stamped white rectangle a few times. Remember to re-ink the stamp each time. Let some of the swooshes go off the edges of the cardstock and change the direction and angle of the stamp each time you stamp. Clean the stamp with the Stampin' Mist and Stampin' Scrub, but leave it on the block.
Mount the medium swoosh image from the Painter's Palette Set on Block G. Ink it up with the Bermuda Bay Ink Pad and stamp it randomly onto the stamped white rectangle a few times. Remember to re-ink the stamp each time. Let some of the swooshes go off the edges of the cardstock and change the direction and angle of the stamp each time you stamp.
Mount the small swoosh image from the Painter's Palette Set on Block G. Ink it up with the Lemon Lime Twist Ink Pad and stamp it randomly onto the stamped white rectangle a few times. Remember to re-ink the stamp each time. Let some of the swooshes go off the edges of the cardstock and change the direction and angle of the stamp each time you stamp. Clean the stamp with the Stampin' Mist and Stampin' Scrub, but leave it on the block.
Adhere the stamped white rectangle to the small front panel of the card.
Mount the "your idea to have a birthday..." sentiment from the Painter's Palette Set on Block B. Ink it up with the Bermuda Bay Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the white square.
Unlock the 1-3/4" Circle Punch. Holding the punch upside down so you can see the punching area, slide the stamped sentiment into the punch. Center the sentiment in the punching area. Punch.
Place the punched sentiment circle on the Grid Paper. Ink up the large swoosh image on Block H using the Lemon Lime Twist Ink Pad. Stamp the swoosh party way across the center of the sentiment circle at an angle. Clean the stamp and put it away.
Ink up the small swoosh image on Block G using the Peekaboo Peach Ink Pad. Stamp the swoosh two times on the upper and lower edges of the sentiment circle at different angles. Remember to re-ink the stamp before stamping the second time. Clean the stamp and put it away.
Unlock the 2" Circle Punch. Slide the Berry Burst square into the punch. Punch.
Adhere the sentiment circle to the center of the Berry Burst circle.
Cut a 6" piece of Lemon Lime Twist 1/2" Finely Woven Ribbon.
Tie a half knot in one end of the ribbon. Trim both ends of the ribbon at sharp angles so the ribbon is about 5" long.
Lay the knotted ribbon at an angle on the front of the card with the card closed so the knotted end of the ribbon is on the left side. Use a Mini Glue Dot on the back of the knot to hold that end of the ribbon in place.
Place the matted sentiment circles upside down on the work area in front of you. Place three Stampin' Dimensionals on the back of the circles on the RIGHT half only. When you flip the circles right side up, the Dimensionals will now be on the left side.
Remove the protective backings from the Dimensionals and adhere the sentiment circles to the front of the card in the center so they overlap the ribbon and hold it in place. Make sure no adhesive hits the back of the card on the right side or the card will not open.
Carefully remove three Lemon Lime Twist sequins and two Berry Burst sequins from sheets of Tutti-frutti Adhesive-Backed Sequins making sure you get the adhesive as well as the sequins. Adhere them randomly to the card.
