Project Recipe
Cut cardstock pieces to the following sizes using a Stampin' Trimmer:
- card from Poppy Parade Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Petal Pink Cardstock
- 3-1/4" x 4-1/2" of pink and red flowers with green leaves design from Painted Seasons Designer Series Paper
- 2-1/4" square from Poppy Parade Cardstock
- 2-1/8" square from Petal Pink Cardstock
- 2" x 3-1/4" from Petal Pink Cardstock
Lightly spray the large Petal Pink rectangle (4" x 5-1/4") with water. This will help you get a deeper impression when you dry emboss it.
Insert the damp Petal Pink rectangle into the Country Floral Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. Use the line drawn on the front flap of the folder to help you line the cardstock up straight. Place the folder with the paper inside directly on your Big Shot Platform at the lowest possible setting. Place a Cutting Pad on top of the folder and run through the Big Shot.
VERY IMPORTANT: You are using only ONE Cutting Pad. If you try to use two, the sandwich will be too thick and you could damage the Big Shot.
Set the dry embossed cardstock aside to let it dry thoroughly.
Tip: You can use a Heat Tool to speed up drying if you wish.
Mount the large, rounded petal flower image from the Painted Seasons Set on Block C. Ink it up with the Petal Pink Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the Petal Pink square paying attention to the orientation of the stamp.
Re-ink the stamp with the Petal Pink Ink Pad. BEFORE stamping, rub a Sponge Dauber across the open Poppy Parade Ink Pad to get some ink on the dauber. Then, lightly rub the inky dauber across the inked up stamp from the center towards the edges. Get more ink on the dauber as needed. Breathe on the stamp to moisten the ink. Stamp the flower image again in the center of the Petal Pink square making sure the stamp is oriented the same way as before.
Adhere the stamped Petal Pink square to the center of the Poppy Parade square.
Mount the "inspire" sentiment from the Part Of My Story Set on Block C. Ink it up with the Poppy Parade Ink Pad. Stamp it near one end of the Petal Pink strip making sure to leave room to punch the sentiment out.
Unlock the Pretty Label Punch. Holding the punch upside down so you can see the punching area, slide the stamped sentiment into the punch and get it centered in the punching area. Punch.
Cut a 4" piece of Petal Pink 1/4" ribbon from the Metallic Ribbon Combo Pack so it has an angle on each end.
Lay the ribbon across the back of the sentiment punch out in the center so the ends of the ribbon stick out on the right and left sides of the punch out. Adhere the ribbon in place with a small strip of Tear & Tape Adhesive. Leave the protective backing in place for now.
If the dry embossed Petal Pink rectangle is dry, adhere it to the front of the Poppy Parade card.
Adhere the piece of Painted Seasons Designer Series Paper to the front of the card in the center of the dry embossed Petal Pink rectangle.
Adhere the matted flower square to the front of the card so it is centered side to side and is about 1/4" from the top of the designer paper layer.
Remove the protective backing from the Tear & Tape Adhesive on the back of the sentiment punch out. Add some additional SNAIL Adhesive to the back of the punch out. Adhere the sentiment punch out with ribbon attached to the front of the card so it is centered side to side and is about 1/4" from the bottom edge of the designer paper layer.
Cut a 2" piece of Linen Thread.
Pick out a tiny Sahara Sand button from the Needlepoint Nook Mini Buttons.
Thread the ends of the linen thread through the holes in the button from the back side. Tie in place with a half knot. Trim and fray the ends.
Tip: Use a floss or needle threader to help you get the thread through the holes in the button.
Use a Mini Glue Dot to adhere the button with thread tied on to the card front so it is in the lower left center of the flower.
