Project Recipe
Cut cardstock and designer paper pieces to the following sizes using a Stampin' Trimmer:
- card from Balmy Blue Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" of green leaves and dandelion stems on lighter green background design from Botanical Butterfly Designer Series Paper
- 3-1/4" x 4-1/2" from Whisper White Cardstock
- 1" x 4" from Whisper White Cardstock
- 2-1/4" x 7" from Whisper White Cardstock
Lightly spray the 3-1/4" x 4-1/2" Whisper White rectangle with water. This will help you get a deeper impression when you dry emboss it.
Insert the damp Whisper White rectangle into the Country Floral Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. Use the line drawn on the front flap of the folder to help you line the cardstock up straight. Place the folder with the paper inside directly on your Big Shot Platform at the lowest possible setting. Place a Cutting Pad on top of the folder and run through the Big Shot.
VERY IMPORTANT: You are using only ONE Cutting Pad. If you try to use two, the sandwich will be too thick and you could damage the Big Shot.
Set the dry embossed cardstock aside to let it dry thoroughly.
Tip: You can use a Heat Tool to speed up drying if you wish.
Carefully punch out a small, solid wooden butterfly element from a sheet of Butterfly Elements. Press one side of the butterfly element against the open Balmy Blue Ink Pad firmly and repeatedly. Set it aside to let it dry thoroughly.
Tip: You can use the putty tip of the Take Your Pick tool to pick up and hold the wooden element in place so you don't get ink on your fingers.
Adhere the piece of Botanical Butterfly Designer Series Paper to the front of the Balmy Blue card.
Unlock the Banner Triple Punch. Slide one end of the 1" x 4" strip of Whisper White Cardstock into the punch as far as it will go. Punch.
Mount the skinny sentiment of your choice from the Part Of My Story Set on an appropriate sized block. Ink it up with the Lemon Lime Twist Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the punched white banner as close to the notch in the strip as possible with the notch on the left side.
Mount the large, rounded petal flower image from the Painted Seasons Set on Block C. Ink it up with the Balmy Blue Ink Pad. Stamp it on one end of the 2-1/4" x 7" strip of white cardstock.
Mount the smaller, pointy petal flower image from the Painted Seasons Set on Block B. Ink it up with the Daffodil Delight Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the 2-1/4" x 7" strip of white cardstock.
Mount the large, 3-leaf stem image from the Painted Seasons Set on Block C. Ink it up with the Lemon Lime Twist Ink Pad. Stamp it on the other end of the 2-1/4" x 7" strip of white cardstock. Don't worry if you can't get all of the stem, you are going to cut the leaves off anyway.
Use Paper Snips to cut out the flowers and leaves by hand. Cut the stem off the leaf stem and cut out the two leaves that connect and the single leaf.
If the dry embossed Whisper White rectangle is dry, adhere it to the front of the card in the center of the designer paper.
Adhere the sentiment banner to the bottom of the dry embossed white layer so the notch is on the left side and almost touches the left edge of the dry embossed white layer and is about 3/8" from the bottom edge.
Adhere the cut out flowers to the front of the card so they overlap each other and the end of the sentiment banner.
Use Fine-Tip Glue or Multipurpose Liquid Glue to adhere the leaves to the front of the card so they are tucked under the flowers on the lower right side.
Cut an 8" piece of either Daffodil Delight ribbon, Balmy Blue ribbon, or Lemon Lime Twist ribbon from the Organdy Ribbon Combo Pack.
Tie a small bow in the center of the ribbon. Trim the ends.
Use a Mini Glue Dot to adhere the bow to the front of the card where the leaves and flowers meet.
Use a Mini Glue Dot to adhere the colored wooden butterfly element to the front of the card at a slight angle above the sentiment banner on the dry embossed white rectangle.
