Project Recipe
Cut cardstock and designer paper pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- card from Balmy Blue Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" of lines of faint lavender stems on light purple backgroun design from Perennial Lavender 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper, cut so the stems are vertical on the vertical rectangle
- 3-1/2" x 4-3/4" from Balmy Blue Cardstock
- 2-1/4" x 2-3/4" from Highland Heather Cardstock
- 1" x 2-1/2" from Granny Apple Green Cardstock
- 1-1/2" x 2-1/4" from Highland Heather Cardstock
- 1" x 1-1/2" from Highland Heather Cardstock
Pick out the large postage stamp rectangle die that cuts out a postage stamp rectangle that is 3-1/4" x 4-1/2" from the Perennial Postage Dies. Put it on top of the Balmy Blue rectangle on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine. Run through the machine.
Pick out the solid cancellation mark die from the Perennial Postage Dies. Press the cut side directly onto the open Gorgeous Grape Ink Pad. Carefully pick up the inky die and put it on top of the Balmy Blue postage stamp rectangle cut out on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so the inky cancellation mark die is at a slight angle in the upper left corner of the vertical rectangle. Run through the machine.
Note: This die does NOT cut anything out, it just dry embosses a cancellation mark instead.
Tip: Carefully clean any remaining ink off the die using a baby wipe or wet tissue or paper towel before returning it to the storage envelope.
Insert the inked cancellation mark postage stamp rectangle cut out into the Timeworn Type 3D Embossing Folder. Use the line printed on the front flap of the folder to make sure it is lined up straight. Make sure you can see the dry embossed cancellation mark and the line and logo printed on the front flap of the folder. Place the folder with the cardstock inside on the platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine and run through the machine.
Adhere the dry embossed, inked cancellation mark postage stamp rectangle cut out to the left side of the Perennial Lavender Designer Paper rectangle so it is centered top to bottom and there is about 1/8" of designer paper showing on the left side. Make sure the lavender stems printed on the designer paper are upright.
As you are ready to stamp using the Painted Lavender Set, place the cardstock on the Stampin' Pierce Mat. Using the mat will help you get a cleaner image each time you stamp.
Mount the large bunch of 7 lavender stems image from the Painted Lavender Set on Block D. Ink it up with the Gorgeous Grape Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the 2-1/4" x 2-3/4" Highland Heather rectangle.
Pick out the matching bunch of lavender stems die from the Painted Lavender Dies. Put it on top of the stamped lavender bunch image on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so it is centered over the image. Run through the machine.
Mount the large bunch of stems image from the Painted Lavender Set on Block D. Ink it up with the Granny Apple Green Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the Granny Apple Green rectangle.
Pick out the matching bunch of stems die from the Painted Lavender Dies. Put it on top of the stamped bunch of stems image on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so it is centered over the image. Run through the machine.
WITHOUT ADHERING, lay the lavender stems bunch cut out and the stems bunch cut out on the Balmy Blue postage stamp rectangle cut out as shown to figure out spacing and placement. When happy with the arrangement, adhere the pieces in place using Stampin' Seal and/or Multipurpose Liquid Glue or Fine-Tip Glue Pen. Make sure the top of the stems bunch overlaps the bottom of the lavender stems bunch a tiny bit.
Cut a 4-1/2" piece of the Balmy Blue & White 3/8" Double-Stitched Ribbon.
Lay the ribbon across the layered designer paper/cardstock rectangle so it is about 1" from the bottom. Fold the ends of the ribbon over and secure the ribbon in place on the back with strips of Tear & Tape Adhesive.
Remove the protective backings from the Tear & Tape pieces and add Stampin' Seal to the back of the designer paper rectangle. Adhere the rectangle to the front of the Balmy Blue card.
Mount the "you're simply marvelous" sentiment from the Perennial Postage Set on Block C. Ink it up with the Gorgeous Grape Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the 1-1/2" x 2-1/4" Highland Heather rectangle.
Pick out the small postage stamp rectangle die that cuts out a postage stamp rectangle that is 1-1/8" x 1-7/8" from the Perennial Postage Dies. Put it on top of the stamped sentiment rectangle on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so it is centered over the sentiment. Run through the machine.
Use Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the sentiment postage stamp rectangle cut out to the front of the card as shown so it is centered over the ribbon on the right side and overlaps the right edge of the blue postage stamp rectangle a bit.
Mount the set of two small butterflies image from the Painted Lavender Set on Block A. Ink it up with the Highland Heather Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the remaining, small Highland Heather rectangle.
Pick out the matching set of two small butterflies die from the Painted Lavender Dies. Put it on top of the stamped butterflies image on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so it is centered over the images. Run through the machine.
Use Multipurpose Liquid Glue or Fine-Tip Glue Pen to adhere the small butterfly cut outs to the front of the card as shown.
Use the mini spatula on the Take Your Pick to carefully peel up a butterfly from the sheet of Brushed Brass Butterflies making sure that you get the adhesive backing as well. Adhere it to the front of the card as shown.
Cut a 3" piece of the Balmy Blue & White 3/8" Double-Stitched Ribbon.
Slide one end of the ribbon under the ribbon already on the card front so it is centered over the stems cut out. Tie in place with a half knot. Trim the ends.
