P ainted Harvest lets us quickly create watercolor images without the paintbrush and water. This card can be a Thanksgiving card, a masculine Birthday card, or a Sympathy card.
Project Recipe
create a base by cutting a 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" from a 8 1/2" x 11" Early Expresso Cardstock sheet.
- Cut the Early Expresso sheet in half lengthwise at the 5 1/2" mark for 2 sheets 5 1/2" x 8 1/2"
Using a scorer blade on your trimmer, score the 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" sheet at the halfway mark or 4 1/4".
Emboss the Left Side of the card base with the Spring Flowers Textured Embossing Folder or any other folder with flowers or leaves.
Open the folder and take note of the side that has the raised flowers. (this Wrong side is the one the has Stampin Up Made in China on it).
With the Right Side (the one that says Sizzix-Stampin Up on it) place the card base font in the folder so the right side of the folder is on top.
Folder the back of the card base to the back of the folder (on the outside of the folder)
Close the folder.
Run this through a big Shot or Cuttlebug machine with the appropriate plates.
Cut a 8 1/2" x 11" piece of Very Vanilla Cardstock in strips 3 1/2" x 8 1/2" approx. Using the largest circle from the Stitched Shapes Framelits cut out a circle.
Using a piece of Very Vanilla Cardstock and the Old Olive Stampin Pad, stamp the three leaves that has an open design (not filled in) on the edge of the paper three time. Use the Leaf Punch to cut these out.
On the painted harvest flower the two parts fit together by lining up the middle circle. Ther is a section of the circle that juts out a bit on both stamps.
Using a Stamparatus to double stamp helps with lining up.
Stamp the outside flower (more filled in) with So Saffron Stampin Pad onto the circle cut out with Stitched Shapes thinlits.. Follow this by stamping the smaller flower with Fresh Fig Stampin Pad.
Use the stamp for the centre of the flower and stamp in Early Epresso.
Highlight around the flower by stamping the five dot stamp randomly around the flower. Plus add the five dots to the centre.
I don't use washi tape often so thought this would be a good chance to use it. I added a strip of washi tape from the Santa & Co. Designer washi tape in old olive approx. 1 1/4" from the bottom.
Putting it all together:
This was fairly easy with this card. Glue the Three sets of leaves around the stitched Shape Circle. I place the bottom right hand one so it would go into the bottom right corner.
Add dimensionals to the back of the circle and attach to the base over the washi tape.
extra:
Using a White Craft stamp pad I stamped a greeting in the inside of the card.
