Project Recipe
Cut cardstock, designer vellum, Multipurpose Adhesive Sheets, and Galvanized Metallic Paper pieces to the following sizes using a Stampin' Trimmer:
- card from Mint Macaron Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Galvanized Metallic Paper
- 2-3/8" x 5-1/4" from Whisper White Cardstock
- 2-1/8" x 5-1/8" strip of stained glass stylized tulip with vines from sheet of 2 of this design from Graceful Glass 6" x 6" Designer Vellum
- 1-1/2" x 2-3/4" from Galvanized Metallic Paper
- 1-3/8" x 2-5/8" from Multipurpose Adhesive Sheets
- 2" x 3" from Whisper White Cardstock
Insert the large Galvanized Metallic Paper rectangle into the Tin Tile Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. Use the thin line drawn on the front flap of the folder to help you line up the paper and get it straight. Place the folder with the paper inside directly on your Big Shot Platform at the lowest possible setting. Place a Cutting Pad on top of the folder and run through the Big Shot.
VERY IMPORTANT: You are using only ONE Cutting Pad. If you try to use two, the sandwich will be too thick and you could damage the Big Shot.
Adhere the dry embossed Galvanized Metallic Paper rectangle to the front of the Mint Macaron card.
Place the strip of Graceful Glass Designer Vellum on top of some paper on your work surface (Grid Paper works great) to protect it from ink. You can color on the top of the vellum or on the back. The colors will be more intense if you color on the top.
Start coloring with the Stampin' Blends Markers. The markers have a brush tip for coloring in larger areas and a fine tip for coloring in smaller areas. Refer to the sample for coloring ideas.
Put some Mini Glue Dots on the back of the colored vellum strip in the four corners and center. Adhere the colored vellum strip to the large white rectangle so it is centered..
Adhere the matted vellum strip to the card front so it is about 1/2" from the top.
Mount the "A Reason to Celebrate" sentiment to Block B. Ink it up with the Rich Razzleberry Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the small white rectangle.
Carefully peel up the protective backing on one side of the Multipurpose Adhesive Sheet piece and adhere it to one side of the Galvanized Metallic Paper piece. Leave the other protective backing piece in place.
Place the Galvanized Metallic Paper piece on the Precision Base Plate on top of the Platform on the Big Shot so that the adhesive side (with protective backing in place) is on the bottom (silver facing up).
Pick out the small rectangle thinlit from the Stained Glass Thinlits. Place it on top of the Galvanized Metallic Paper piece on the Big Shot. Place a Cutting Pad on top and run through the Big Shot a couple of times. Use the Die Brush and Paper-Piercing Tool to remove the pieces.
Use Paper Snips to cut out the cross pieces in the center of the rectangle cut out.
Peel the protective backing off of the trimmed rectangle cut out and adhere it to the stamped white rectangle so the sentiment is centered in the rectangle.
Use Paper Snips to trim off excess white cardstock along the edges of the rectangle cut out.
Place the rectangle cut out on top of some paper on your work surface (Grid Paper works great). You need to make sure that you protect your work surface with paper as the Stampin' Blends Markers do bleed through.
Use the fine tips of the Stampin' Blends Markers to color in the spaces between the rectangle cut out lines. Refer to the sample for coloring ideas.
Cut a 4-1/2" piece of Tranquil Tide 1/4" Velvet Ribbon so there are sharp angles on either end.
Lay the ribbon across the center of the back of the colored and trimmed sentiment rectangle so a bit of ribbon hangs out on either side. Adhere in place using small pieces of Tear & Tape Adhesive. Leave the protective backings in place.
Use Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the sentiment rectangle with ribbon attached to the center of the card front so it overlaps the bottom of the matted vellum strip a bit.
Use the brush tip of the Rich Razzleberry Dark Stampin' Blends to color one of the small gems on a sheet of Clear Faceted Gems while it is on the sheet.
Carefully peel up the purple colored gem from the sheet of Clear Faceted Gems making sure that you get the adhesive backing as well. Adhere it to the center of the colored stylized tulip on the vellum strip.
