Project Recipe
Cut cardstock pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- card from Lost Lagoon Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Lemon Lime Twist Cardstock
- 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" from Basic White Cardstock
- 2-1/4" x 3" from Lemon Lime Twist Cardstock
- 2-1/2" square from Basic White Cardstock
- 3" x 5" from Lemon Lime Twist Cardstock
- small scrap of Lost Lagoon Cardstock
As you are ready to stamp using the Otterly Amazing Set, place the cardstock on the Stampin' Pierce Mat. Using the mat will help you get a cleaner image each time you stamp. Put a piece of Grid Paper on top to protect the Mat from ink.
Mount the school of fish image from the Otterly Amazing Set on Block B. Ink it up with the Lost Lagoon Ink Pad. Stamp the fish multiple times in a swooping diagonal from the lower left corner to the upper right corner of the vertical 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" white rectangle. Re-ink the stamp every so often. Let some of the images go off the edges of the cardstock.
Mount the "you're otterly amazing" sentiment from the Otterly Amazing Set on Block B. Ink it up with the Tuxedo Black Memento Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the horizontal 2-1/4" x 3" Lemon Lime Twist rectangle.
Pick out the 2nd largest pennant die from the Nested Essentials Dies. Put it on top of the stamped sentiment on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so it is centered over the sentiment with the notch on the right side and the sentiment closer to the notch. Run through the machine.
Cut two pieces of the Lost Lagoon Soft Cording each 2-1/2" long.
Lay the 2 pieces of cording vertically across the left, flat side of the sentiment banner cut out. Fold the ends of the cording over and secure the cording in place on the back with strips of Tear & Tape Adhesive. Leave the protective backings in place.
Use Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the sentiment banner cut out with cording attached to the lower left side of the stamped white rectangle. The flat edge of the cut out should be even with the left side of the white rectangle and the bottom edge should be about 1" from the bottom of the white rectangle.
Adhere the stamped white rectangle with sentiment banner cut out attached to the center of the large Lemon Lime Twist rectangle and then to the front of the Lost Lagoon card.
Mount the large, curved otter image from the Otterly Amazing Set on Block D. Ink it up with the Tuxedo Black Memento Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the white square.
Pick out the matching, large curved otter die from the Otterly Amazing Dies. Put it on top of the stamped otter on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so it is centered over the image. Run through the machine.
Place the otter cut out on some Grid Paper to protect your work surface. You need to make sure that you protect your work surface with paper as the Stampin' Blends Markers do bleed through.
Use the Stampin' Blends to color in the otter image as desired.
Use Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the colored otter image cut out to the front of the card as shown so he overlaps the top of the sentiment banner a bit.
Pick out the set of two seaweed sprigs die and both of the long, skinny seaweed dies from the Otterly Amazing Dies. Put them on top of the Lemon Lime Twist rectangle on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine. Make sure the dies do NOT overlap. Run through the machine. Remove the pieces with the paper-piercing tool on the Take Your Pick. Repeat until you have 3 large seaweed sprig cut outs and 4 small seaweed sprig cut outs.
WITHOUT ADHERING, lay the seaweed sprig cut outs on the card front to figure out spacing and placement. When happy with the arrangement, adhere the pieces in place one at a time using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.
Pick out the connected set of two large fish die from the Otterly Amazing Dies. Put it on top of the Lost Lagoon scrap on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so you cut out one fish. Run through the machine. Use the paper-piercing tool on the Take Your Pick to remove the pieces.
Use Multipurpose Liquid Glue to adhere the fish cut out to the otter's chest.
Use the mini spatula on the Take Your Pick to carefully peel up 5 Lost Lagoon pearls from a sheet of Riverside Irregular Pearls making sure that you get the adhesive backings as well. Adhere them randomly to the card front.
Cut a 2-1/4" piece of the Lost Lagoon Soft Cording.
Slide the cording under the cording already on the card front just to the left of the sentiment. Tie in place with a half knot. Trim the ends.
