A pretty Easter card with "Faberge eggs" using Stampin' Up! products.
Project Recipe
Cut cardstock and designer paper pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- card from Mint Macaron Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Basic White Cardstock
- 2-3/4" x 3-3/4" of gold filigree designs on green background design from Ornate Garden Specialty Designer Series Paper
- 2-3/4" x 3-3/4" of small gold flowers and leaves on white background design from Ornate Garden Specialty Designer Series Paper
- 1" x 3-1/2" from Mint Macaron Cardstock
Mount the rectangular ornate design pattern image from the Ornate Style Set on Block H. Ink it up with the Mint Macaron Ink Pad. Stamp it on the horizontal white rectangle in the lower right corner so it is about 1/2" from the bottom and 1/4" from the right edge.
Adhere the stamped white rectangle to the front of the Mint Macaron card.
Pick out the smooth oval die from the Layering Ovals Dies that cuts out a smooth oval that is 2-3/8" x 3-1/4. Put it on top of one of the designer paper rectangles on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine. Run through the machine. Repeat with the other pieces of designer paper.
Adhere the green "egg" oval to the left side of the card front at a slight angle.
Put the gold floral "egg" oval cut out on some Grid Paper to protect your work surface. You need to make sure that you protect your work surface with paper as the Stampin' Blends Markers do bleed through.
Use the Dark So Saffron Stampin' Blends to color in the centers of the flowers.
Use the Dark and Light Petal Pink Stampin' Blends to color in the flower petals. Note: The Light Petal Pink Stampin' Blends looks kind of grayish when first applied. As it dries, it will turn pink.
Use the Dark and Light Mint Macaron Stampin' Blends to color in the leaves.
Use the Light So Saffron Stampin' Blends to color in any remaining white spaces.
Adhere the colored gold floral "egg" to the front of the card so it overlaps the green "egg" a bit and overlaps the left end of the stamped ornate design.
Mount the "Easter Blessings" sentiment from the Itty Bitty Greetings Set on Block G. Ink it up with the Mint Macaron Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the Mint Macaron strip near one end. Leave room to punch the sentiment out.
Unlock the Classic Label Punch. Holding the punch upside down so you can see the punching area, slide the stamped sentiment into the punch and get it centered in the punching area. Punch.
Use Mini Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the sentiment punch out to the card front so it overlaps the right edge of the gold floral "egg" a bit and is centered over the stamped ornate design.
Cut a 4" piece of the Gold 3/8" Metallic-Edge Ribbon.
Place the ribbon on some Grid Paper to protect your work surface. Use the Dark Petal Pink Stampin' Blends brush tip to color the ribbon. Allow to dry for a few minutes.
Tie a half knot in the center of the ribbon. Trim the ends.
Use a Mini Glue Dot to adhere the ribbon knot to the card front at a slight angle so it overlaps the left end of the sentiment punch out.
Use the mini spatula on the Take Your Pick to carefully peel up a large Petal Pink gem from a sheet of Elegant Faceted Gems making sure that you get the adhesive backing as well. Adhere it to the front of the card in the upper right corner.
