I live in a suburb of Vancouver, BC, Canada. We are so lucky to have the Pacific ocean so close by! This card reminds me of the last boat ride I had, looking at the sunset through the window!
Project Recipe
Start with a Crumb Cake card base, cut at 8 1/2" x 5 1/2", and scored at 4 1/4". Cut a Crumb Cake layer at 5 1/4" x 4". Ink up the Pinewood Planks 3D Embossing Folder with Crumb Cake Ink on the inside, on the side with the Stampin' Up! logo. Put the Crumb Cake layer inside (portrait orientation - see card photo) and run it through the Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine.
On a 3" x 3" piece of Crumb Cake cardstock, stamp the frame from the Framed For You Stamp Set using Crumb Cake Ink. Use the Layering Squares Dies to cut out the frame on the outside and inside using the largest frame (not scalloped) and the frame measuring 1 7/8" on the inside. On the Pinewood Planks layer, use the Layering Square Die measuring 2 1/8" on the inside to cut out a square about an inch down from the top of the layer.
Take a 2 1/4" x 2 1/4" piece of Shimmery White Cardstock and, using a wedge of a Stampin' Sponge, sponge some Daffodil Delight Ink in the centre in a circular motion. Sponge some Mango Melody Ink around that, overlapping the two colours. Sponge some Melon Mambo Ink around that to the edges of the piece. Take a Post-It Note and cover about a third of the piece, making sure to keep it straight horizontally. Sponge some Pool Party Ink all over the exposed area and some Bermuda Bay Ink around the edges and along the Post-It Note edge. Stamp the water lines from the Framed For You Stamp Set in Memento Tuxedo Black Ink to cover this and then remove the Post-It Note.
Center the scenic piece under the opening in the Pinewood Planks piece and adhere with glue. Adhere the whole layer to the card base. Center the stamped frame over the opening and adhere using Stampin' Dimensionals. Draw a couple of tiny seagulls in the distance with a black Stampin' Write Marker.
Cut the wheel from the Smooth Sailing Dies out of a Silver Foil Sheet. Glue onto the bottom of the frame and add a silver Metallic Pearl. Stamp the "Thanks" sentiment from the Sailing Home Stamp Set in Crumb Cake Ink onto a scrap of Sahara Sand Cardstock and cut with the banner from the Smooth Sailing Dies. Wrap a 6" piece of Linen Thread into a circle and loop it over the right side of the banner. Adhere to the card front with Stampin' Dimensionals.
