Q uick and easy Christmas card using heat embossing and Stampin' Up! products.
Project Recipe
Cut cardstock and designer paper pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- card from Night Of Navy Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" of stars on watercolor washed blue background design from O Holy Night 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper, cut so the stars are vertical on the horizontal rectangle
- 2-1/2" x 3-1/2" from Night Of Navy Cardstock
- 2-1/2" x 3-1/2" from Basic White Cardstock
Adhere the piece of O Holy Night Designer Paper to the front of the Night Of Navy card.
Rub the Embossing Buddy included in the Embossing Additions Tool Kit all over the Night Of Navy rectangle.
Mount the "the stars are brightly shining" sentiment from the Night Divine Set on Block D. Ink it up with the VersaMark Pad. Stamp it in the center of the horizontal Night Of Navy rectangle so it is slightly closer to the right edge.
Lay the VersaMark stamped rectangle in the center of the Powder Pal included in the Embossing Additions Tool Kit. Sprinkle on some gold powder from the Metallics Stampin' Emboss Powders so it covers the entire sentiment. Tap off excess powder. Return the excess powder to the container to use again later.
Heat the powder with the Heat Tool on the highest setting until it is completely melted (shiny and smooth).
Tip: Use the Crafting Tweezers included in the Embossing Additions Tool Kit to hold the cardstock while you are heating it so you don't burn your fingers.
Pick out the largest, bumpy topped tag die from the Something Fancy Dies. Put it on top of the heat embossed sentiment on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so the sentiment is centered in the die and the top of the tag is on the left side. Run through the machine. Leave the die out.
Put the largest, bumpy topped tag die on top of the white rectangle on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine. Run through the machine.
Adhere the two tags together so they are slightly offset and the white tag is on the bottom as shown.
Pick out the small bumpy topped die with a downward pointing tear drop shape in the center from the Something Fancy Dies. Place the layered tags together UPSIDE DOWN on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine. Put the die on top so it is centered in the top of the bumpy portion of the tags. Run through the machine. This will cut a ribbon hole in the top of your layered tags.
Note: You want to cut the hole in the top of the tags from the backside of the tags so you don't see the line imprinted by the rest of the die.
Cut a 6" piece of the Night Of Navy & Gold 1/2" Glittered Ribbon.
Thread the ribbon through the hole in the top of the tags and pull it through until it is even.
Cut a 3-1/2" piece of the White 3/8" Glittered Organdy Ribbon.
Tie the white ribbon around the blue ribbon using a knot so it is tied just above the top of the tags. Trim the ends of the ribbons.
Adhere the tags with ribbon attached to the front of the card at a slight angle a shown.
Use the mini spatula on the Take Your Pick to peel up one large and one small star from the sheet of Adhesive-Backed Star Trinkets making sure you get the adhesive backings as well. Adhere them to the card front as shown.
