S oft and pretty card using Stampin' Up! products.
Project Recipe
Cut cardstock and designer paper pieces to the following sizes using a Stampin' Trimmer:
- card from Petal Pink Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Highland Heather Cardstock
- 1-1/4" x 5-1/4" of dotted vanilla lines on light purple background design from Needlepoint Nook Designer Series Paper, cut so the lines are vertical
- 1-1/4" x 4" from Petal Pink Cardstock
- 2" square from Very Vanilla Cardstock
- 1-1/4" square from Very Vanilla Cardstock
- 1-1/4" x 4" from Old Olive Cardstock
Pick out the large, solid framelit with the needlepoint design on it from the Needlepoint Elements Framelits. Place the Highland Heather rectangle on the Cutting Pad on top of the Platform on the Big Shot. Place the needlepoint design framelit on top at an angle on the left side so the one swirl almost touches the left edge and one of the sets of leaves is about 1/2" from the top. Place another Cutting Pad on top and run through the Big Shot.
Tip: This framelit does NOT cut. It just dry embosses a needlepoint design onto cardstock.
As you are ready to stamp using the Needle & Thread Set, place the cardstock on the Stampin' Pierce Mat. Using the mat will help you get a cleaner image each time you stamp.
Mount the set of three tiny butterflies image from the Needle & Thread Set on Block A. Ink it up with the Highland Heather Ink Pad. Stamp it in the upper left corner of the dry embossed Highland Heather rectangle.
Adhere the strip of Needlepoint Nook Designer Paper down the right edge of the dry embossed Highland Heather rectangle.
Adhere the Highland Heather rectangle to the front of the Petal Pink card.
Pick out the long, skinny, open label framelit from the Needlepoint Elements Framelits. Place the Petal Pink strip on the Cutting Pad on the Platform on the Big Shot. Place the long, skinny label framelit on top. Place another Cutting Pad on top and run through the Big Shot.
Pick out the solid, skinny row of x's framelit from the Needlepoint Elements Framelits. Place the cut out pink label on the Cutting Pad on the Platform on the Big Shot. Place the solid, skinny row of x's framelit on top so it is centered in the center of the label along the top edge. Place another Cutting Pad on top and run through the Big Shot.
Tip: This framelit does NOT cut. It just dry embosses a needlepoint design onto cardstock.
Mount the "sending you happiness & love" sentiment from the Needle & Thread Set on Block H. Carefully ink up only the words "happiness & love" by pressing it to the edge of the Highland Heather Ink Pad. Stamp along the bottom edge of the pink label cut out.
Adhere the stamped pink label cut out to the card front so the left edge almost touches the left edge of the Highland Heather layer and it is just below the bottom of the dry embossed image on the Highland Heather layer.
Mount the large embroidered flower image from the Needle & Thread Set on Block C. Ink it up with the Petal Pink Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the larger vanilla square.
Tip: If your ink pad is really juicy, you might get a better image if you use a Sponge Dauber to pick up ink from the pad and then pounce it onto the stamp to ink it up.
Pick out the large, open, flower framelit from the Needlepoint Elements Framelits. Place the stamped large flower on the Cutting Pad on the Magnetic Platform on the Big Shot. Place the flower framelit on top so it is centered over the flower image. Place another Cutting Pad on top and run through the Big Shot.
Mount the small embroidered flower image from the Needle & Thread Set on Block A. Ink it up with the Highland Heather Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the smaller vanilla square.
Tip: If your ink pad is really juicy, you might get a better image if you use a Sponge Dauber to pick up ink from the pad and then pounce it onto the stamp to ink it up.
Pick out the small, open, flower framelit from the Needlepoint Elements Framelits. Place the stamped small flower on the Cutting Pad on the Magnetic Platform on the Big Shot. Place the flower framelit on top so it is centered over the flower image. Place another Cutting Pad on top and run through the Big Shot.
Adhere the small flower cut out to the center of the large flower cut out.
Pick out the 3-leaf sprig framelit from the Needlepoint Elements Framelits. Place the strip of Old Olive Cardstock on the Cutting Pad on the Precision Base Plate on the Platform on the Big Shot. Place the 3-leaf sprig framelit on top on one end. Place another Cutting Pad on top and run through the Big Shot. Use the Paper-Piercing Tool and Die Brush to remove the pieces. Put the leaf sprig framelit on the cardstock again in different area and repeat two more times until you've cut out 3 leaf sprigs.
Use Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the leaf sprigs to the back of the flowers so that two overlap and stick out on the upper right side of the flower and the third sticks out on the lower left side of the flower.
Remove the protective backings from the Dimensionals and adhere the flower to the front of the card so the flower overlaps the upper part of the label on the right side and the left edge of the designer paper just a bit.
Pick out a tiny Petal Pink button from the Needlepoint Nook Mini Buttons. Adhere it to the center of the Highland Heather flower using a Mini Glue Dot.
Create 6 strands of Old Olive Linen Thread each about 3-1/2" long by doubling the thread onto itself multiple times. Tie a half knot in the center. Trim the ends.
Use a Mini Glue Dot to adhere the knotted thread to the bottom of the flower.
